Today, my husband went shopping at Martins. We are new to the area and just found Martin's. Never had Walleye before and decided to try it. Martin's circular, the app and their website said the Walleye was $12.99 per pound. My husband bought three fillets. He noticed that he was charged $19.99 per pound and mentioned it to the person in the seafood department. He was told the price changed. He went to the app to prove it was $12.99. The person in seafood said he couldn't change it. My husband went to the manager so that the store would honor the listed price on their circular, app and site. The manager would not honor the listed price. I told my husband I would have handed him the fish and went elsewhere. He said he didn't want to disappoint me or our dinner guest so he let Martin's overcharge him. I just checked the site before writing this review, took a picture of the listed price and posted the price, the dates the prices are good for, along with "order now to pick up Monday, June 23...." We were overcharged $18, almost $19.00. And to add insult to injury, the fish was full of bones and most of the fish was left on our plates. From what I've seen of this market, Martin's steals from their customers. Not good business at all. We will never shop at this store again. Horrible first impression for sure. The manager should be...
Read moreJars covered in maggots.
These jars are covered in the shed skins from pupating maggots. They were there yesterday and were still there a day later.
I found these on the shelf yesterday evening (11/13/24). At least three jars of tomato sauce that sat covered in maggots (presumably from a spill in the storage room) long enough for them to crawl up the side and pupate. Look at how they're getting all under the edge of the lid...really nasty.
I tried to tell customer service about them but they just angrily denied it was possible. They said they'd tell the manager anyway.
But the next day (11/14/24) I went back and they were still there, but put back into a neat row. So apparently this is what Martin's thinks is appropriate.
This is a multi-level sanitation failure involving multiple stockers, customer service, and management. I tried to give them a chance to fix it themselves but they failed to do so, and now I'm...
Read morePurchased the 3 for $5 Carmel Apples on sale. The apple was extremely soft so the following day, I returned the 2 apples. Customer service woman immediately said it's probably the Carmel that soft, I said it's the apple that's extremely soft. I would know the difference. Im 60 plus y.o. She spoke to the manager on the phone with her back towards me, hung up, then told me that it's a perishable product and that it's not returnable. I asked what do they do with produce then? She told me it was a taste preference with the apple. She immediately passed judgment on this attempted return. I've purchased produce that I should have returned but haven't, and this is not the first terrible customer service that I've heard of from friends. The St. Joe location used to be a great store. I will never shop...
