Sav-On Furniture Mart — Local services in Saint Joseph

My wife and I found a sectional here that we both really liked. The price was fairly reasonable and we were ready to make a deal after about a half an hour of discussion. The salesman named Chuck walked me over to the service desk where he discovered that the particular sectional was not in stock. I was okay with knowing it would be a couple days until it arrived however, the ottoman would take about a month to arrive. We checked a couple other places around SJ and decided to go to Nebraska Furtniture Mart. On the way there, my wife called and spoke to Chuck and asked if we could buy the floor model at sticker price because he said the sectional would be in the next afternoon. Chuck said he would call his boss but that he didn't think his boss would approve that idea. A few minutes later, Chuck called back and said no. Their loss. They could have made a sale that day and had cash. We didn't need financing. We weren't even wanting to haggle. We ended up finding a better deal at Nebraska Furniture which was good for us but I'm writing this review because Sav-On is not interested in making money. Save your time and go some place else because they don't have a lot in stock and you will find a better deal later on. DO NOT PUT A DOWN PAYMENT on their stuff. We bought a table, chairs, a bench, a pretty girl's bed with trundle underneath it from SavOn Furniture in Saint Joseph, Mo. in 2004 May. This store has lots of options to choosing tables & chairs. We could choose our table we wanted & choose our chairs that we wanted with it. I needed a table that was easily wipeable with a flat surface to teach my children at home. We needed comfortable chairs & I wanted a wooden Ashley Furniture wooden bench for one side of it. They had us choose what we needed. Very helpful attitudes & great at answering questions. The girl's bed was very pretty. An old fashioned, yet modern made metal canopy with beautiful accent pieces of the prettiest purple flowers & pink roses on each style of accent pieces. Both of my daughters liked this bed, my youngest daughter slept on the underneath trundle & each morning, we would fold it down & slide it under my oldest daughter's metal canopy bed. Since my arrival to St Joseph more than a decade ago Sav On was always my favorite place to get furniture, first to myself as single then later to my own home as married with kids. I can’t recall all the times we got furniture from them but basically half of the house are from them, even I have there a pair that lasted more than ten years and still sturdy. The prices varies and is accessible for everyone, I can say their furniture is higher quality at generally reasonable price than any other “reputable” store I have seen, and the variety is what I love. Recently I was looking for a recliner and I was looking in many places either online or physical.... and guess what, found the best I was looking for at Sav On, of course I had to spend some extra bucks to what I was planning but the quality is incomparable.
