In a time when so many businesses do not rise to the set forth level of expectations and service, Podany’s is just the opposite of that. I worked with Blair initially about five years ago to order a custom desk system for my home office. About a year ago I started noticing the edge banding on the white desk unit turning yellow. Since I was about five years out from the initial date of purchase, I thought I would be in for an unpleasant experience in correcting this defect. I reached out to Blair, we chatted, and I sent photos. After a few weeks of back and forth communication, I learned that although the manufacturer was not initially interested in correcting this issue, both Blair and the owner, Mr. Podany, persisted and pushed back on the manufacturer to make this situation right. Within weeks, I had a brand-new WHOLE desk unit at my door. The Podany’s guys came in, broke the old desk unit apart, and installed the new unit and I didn’t have to do anything. I’m still in shock at how effortless and positive this experience happened. I was fully prepared for an unpleasant interaction where I would be forced to defend my position in why the desk needed to be fixed or replaced. To my surprise, both Blair and Mr. Podany did the absolute right thing and corrected the issue. This is a prime example of a company that stands behind it customers AND it’s products. Read moreStay away from this place as much as you can. I spent over 20k in purchases in the last year and half and they treated me like nobody. I made a purchase that's about $4500 last week. They told me that my delivery will be on Friday the 10th but if something comes up we will squeeze you in. They came and delivered the order on 2/8/23 but they forgot two important pieces. When I called them and notified that the order was missing two pieces they said we're very sorry will re-deliver today 2/9/23. They have not done that so I had to call them and Blair told me there's nothing we can do before the original deliver date of the 10th. At the time of the purchase I told them that I won't be available after 11:30 AM and they agreed that it'll be way before that. Now I'm finding out that my delivery will be 2/10/23 between 1-3. Very inconvenient!! Blair and Dave are racist as they come. Both Blair and Dave show unapologetic racism and it's sad. They hanged up the phone on me because they said I was yelling. I was frustrated with their lack professionalism. Also soon as you walked in to the office you feel that you don't belong there. I remember one I first ordered furniture for office that employees 10 they kept asking me questions like "how did you get this business? Isn't it hard? Read moreI've passed by Podany's for years and never given them much thought until I needed a standing desk and I couldn't find them anywhere else in the Twin Cities due to Covid19 / Quarantine.
I went into the showroom and worked with a sales person to determine which standing desk would be ideal for me. The sales and pickup process was relatively easy and I was able to bring my desk home fully assembled and working which is so nice because I hate assembling office furniture.
The only thing I found unprofessional was when I handed the sales person the $100 off coupon I had printed out from their website. They took $100 off the total with the tax included and the receipt shows I paid full price for the item. This is problematic for a couple of reasons. 1. I paid MN Sales Tax on $700 not $600 and 2. because the invoice does not show the discount with the discounted price but instead it shows the full price, if I needed to return the desk or for taxes purposes, the amount isn't correct. Both of these scenarios work to my advantage but that's not the point. It makes me a little nervous because if they mishandle something like receipts and sales tax, what else are they mishandling?
Maybe it's just a clerical error / oversight but I want to share my entire thoughts on my experience with Podany's.
Would I return? I probably would. So far it's been a positive experience...
