I love this location! The staff is awesome and always very helpful. I've been doing consignment with Turn Style for a few years now and I've fallen in love with the process! I've always been a huge thrift shopper. All growing up my mom and I went to thrift stores for everything! Over the years I've collected & acquired many different things, a big thing always being clothing for me. I've taken my clothes, household items, jewelry and accessories to turn style after loving the items myself and they have been so fair with what they've accepted. My thoughts before bringing items in: "if I owned a store would I want to buy this?" & also "is it in good condition, really.. or are there visible flaws?" If it's not really that great, I'm able to stay objective and decide it's better put into the donate box. I think these are just a couple of things to consider if you are starting consignment or if you're items are not being accepted at times. I'd rather not waste their time or mine if it's just going to be donated anyway. If you are really set on selling something for a specific price or a really high price, I'd try selling it on your own through an app or website. I feel turn style is best for flipping your closet over the seasons to keep your outfits fresh and for unique household items, particularly framed pictures, funky furniture and small dish sets. The store credit is a great option because it's literally like trading up for something that better suits you now and every time I've gone I've found cute clothing and shoes! Just give yourself enough time to look because there is A LOT of clothing, but it's all meticulously organized by size, style and season. Last thing is that I love that they have a small men's section! I've been able to talk my man into purging his closet and he started his own account even! Thanks for always helping me sell things & make money Turn Style!! It's always a nice surprise when I check in every couple of months and have some money on my account and items still for sale on the...
Read moreI have consistently shopped and consigned here for about 8 years, both clothing and home. As a buyer, this place has saved me well over $1,000 on a professional wardrobe. I've snagged brand new, brand name items (Ann Taylor, LOFT, Banana Republic, J Crew) for 80% off retail. You have to enjoy the "thrill of the hunt". Sometimes there's nothing good (especially after-season clearance as most gets picked over).
As a seller, I've made a decent amount of money (not a side hustle, but enough to reinvest in a wardrobe via store credit). -They're picky & usually just take brand names. No Champion, C9, Wrangler, Kirkland. -Call ahead for furniture - they will not automatically take it even if it's new because of space limitations. -ALWAYS bring hangers when consigning clothes. -No kids clothes at this location -Most successful items I've had are menswear, jewelry, women's dress pants, and women's professional tops (not knit). Bad luck on shoes, sweaters, activewear.
A few clerks have been standoffish, rude, and straight up weird (I was consigning my boyfriend's clothes and she told me I couldn't consign stolen items - excuse me?? None of the items had tags and this after 4-5 years as a regular. Just because I'm clearly not a man doesn't mean I don't have male relatives I can consign for?) But overall it's worth...
Read moreRude customer service. After being turned away by the Roseville location because they had received too many items that day, I drive down to St Paul only to be greeted by 2 women who were very inflexible with the âruleâ about only accepting items on hangers. I was unaware of the policy beforehand, which was admittedly my mistake, however there was a stack of 50 hangers not more than 10 feet where I was standing that wouldâve been no skin off their back to let me use. In a somewhat sarcastic way I said I would go to Target and quick by some hangers, thinking they would just let me use theirs, however the saga continued. This included another shopper witnessing what was going on and calling them out on their poor customer service twice in my defense. Moments before I was going to give up and leave they finally decided to let me use their hangers. During the sorting process one of the women decided it would be important to inform me of the importance of pressing items before bringing them in, but it was not verbalized in a polite way. Read your audience, lady, I was already unhappy with how this was going down. I do not recommend consigning your items here. In retrospect I should have left immediately. Oh and really, the whole charging to âpullâ an item if you want it back is a...
