I was there when it happened.

And I can tell you, the resulting splash was not for the feint-of-heart: it was for the real men who have built their own space shuttles themselves. It was that which was bore at the heart of Quixotic Coffee in Highland - real men.

When someone asks you if times like these weren't built for astronauts. they were built for men- real men. i cursed everything i learned throughout astronaut school in that moment. no, they said, your astronaut training would not help you here.

I trained for years to become an astronaut. It was my life's work. The coffee at Quixotic is fair trade, and they make it a point to tell you that. multiple times, but never obnoxiously like you thought.

In astronaut school when did they teach you about customer service? Did they ever even teach you about customer service? Did you even go to astronaut school? It became very evident very quickly that these baristas had not gone to astronaut school. Nay- they had gone to something far worse- they hadn't gone to school at all school, one of the worst schools there is.

Before you judge a book by its cover, make a point to inquire about its astronaut school attendance, and whether or not that will influence your decision. Quixotic has a lot of really nice booths that have a lot of space, and it's great to work on your novel there, or, to even continue with your astronaut school training homework. But I didn't have homework to focus on when it happened, I was just there. Watching. Spectating. Call it "sport." Astronaut sport. Quixotic coffee is great...

I have been here many times,it is a step above a chain coffee shop or store. It is independently owned. The name is pronounced: kiwxotic. Th Q is more like a K! Their coffee is simply excellent! They have all types of coffees, teas & expresso & other types of beverages. They have food like sandwiches & sweet baked goods. The sweet baked goods & pastries are very good & tend to sell out quickly! Before you come here you should check out their online menu.

They also have free wifi & you see many people working on their laptops. It is also very quiet inside. Even though it is on a busy street like Cleveland ave near Ford Parkway. I ordered the last time I was there, an iced coffee with a maple donut. I enjoyed the coffee immensely, so I got a refill. It is a very relaxing place! It's a good place to read a book, talk with friends or do some work on your laptop. They also have outdoor seating in the warmer months. It looks small from the outside. However it rather a large place. I would describe it as long & narrow. They have booths, tables & a counterbar. The employees here are very helpful. I always enjoy my time at Quixotic & you will too! One of the better coffee establishments in the Twin Cities. They also have takeout & you can also order ahead. It is also a very clean establishment! The hours at Quixotic are daily from 7am to 5pm,Enjoy!! ( For some reason the 4 photos I took are only appearing in my review. They don't show up on the Quixotic site. This sometimes happens with Google. I will check with them & try to resolve this...

Some of the best coffee I’ve had! Their specialty cold brews are no joke. I’m a fan of sweeter coffee so I asked the barista what their sweetest cold brew was. She said the Marko polo would be their sweetest drink but they can make any of their cold brews sweeter based on request. When looking at the other drinks the barista mentioned the chocolate milk was delicious so I was leaning towards those. I ended up getting the rockless road which was cold brew, chocolate milk and hazelnut syrup.

After getting my drink the barista mentioned she made it a little sweeter for me and let me try it in case I wanted it to be sweeter. She was so friendly and helpful when ordering!! It ended up tasting delicious based on the accommodations she already made. It was the perfect balance of coffee, milk and hazelnut for me! I definitely want to come back and try their other cold brew with chocolate milk which comes with almond syrup instead of hazelnut; the deniro.

Overall I was so satisfied with my experience and the service I received. The coffee was delicious as I mentioned, and there’s also a good amount of seating to come and get some work done as well. There’s free Wi-Fi and lots of large tables to work at. I definitely...

UPDATE: I WENT back on another Sunday, and it was PERFECT. Right amount of music coming out of the speakers (Beck! That's what I'm talking bout!) Pros: Great tasting coffee: I got a large Americano that was super tasty, not too bitter, and a good head of crema on top. Friendly staff: super nice folks working hard and making great coffee, even when it was super busy, they were courteous to everyone Great seating Lots of plugs for laptops Cons: no disrespect to the shop or it's coffee, but this place gets LOUD. It might be the acoustics and shape of the building, but I had to leave because it was overwhelming (to be fair, I went on a Sunday morning, which I am sure is a busy time) I'll come back and hope it's a little quieter
