EDITED ON 12/21/2022 This edit is long overdue. Went in and the manager did a great job with my ingrown toenail. Thank you! Called to make an appt and asked if they can remove my ingrown nail and was told they can. Went there last Friday evening for a 6:30 appt. All nail technicians were occupied which would have been fine with me if I didn't have to wait for more than 30mins. After that time, a nail technician came, apologized for the wait then started on my nails. I told her where my ingrown was, she looked at it and told me she can't cut it but she will clean my toe as usual. Imagine my frustration! I told her that I called and confirmed to remove my ingrown and now I am being told it cannot be done. She was explaining that it is deep and she doesn't want to cut me because it will be her responsibility. She then asked what color I want, seriously...I didn't want my nails polished anymore. She showed her coworker next to her my nail and spoke to her about it. She then told me that her coworker will take a look at it and try to cut it. She said that her coworker is a nursing student and she is more comfortable for her to do it. She got out a small purple foot scrubber thing and did under my feet, did the foot massge with the warm towel then left. Underneath my feet were poorly done. My heels were (are) still rough and that was also the first time ever I've had a nail technician told me she couldn't cut my ingrown. After the other nail tech was done with her client, she patiently and skillyfully removed my ingrown toe nail, and polished my nails too (took my own polish)!! She also apologized for my frustration and experience I had. I had a long wait, my feet were still rough underneath, and I left a bit frustrated with my experience at Happy Nails. What was the point of making an appt.? The two stars is for the nail tech who stayed late and cut my ingrown and was very patient. I appreciate her time and skills very much. This salon has a lovely and calm atmosphere and it is very clean. Nail techs are very professional and friendly. Regardless of the good things, I may not return, however, I would...
Read moreI scheduled an appointment due to reading all of the great reviews and was sent a request for a $30 deposit to hold the appointment time. When I arrived, the employees there all looked at me like I'd spontaneously grown a second head when I said I had a 1:15 appointment.
When looking up my appointment, they first insisted that I was another appointment, then I clarified with my name and phone number. I was sat down and asked what I was in for - which was set up on the initial appointment request. After sitting for about 10 minutes I was moved to another location to work with Nina. Another 10 minutes passed before Nina sat down and asked me again 3 or 4 times what it was I wanted. The nails were applied, but they all feel loose, almost like press-on nails with not enough glue, but I just wanted to leave and go about my day so I said they were fine.
After, I went to pay, and unlike anywhere else that takes a fee to hold the appointment that fee was not applied to my service. So, $30 to hold the appointment and another $60 for the nails, plus tip, so $90+tip for subpar nails that I'll need to have removed and re-done at another salon.
I honestly don't understand the high marks, unless it's the big signs offering 10% off of your next service if you leave a five-star review. Despite only being a 30 minute drive from my house, I will never return to this...
Read moreI have been to this salon multiple times and have had only great experiences in the past, even on days where the salon is completely full and honestly overbooked. Last night, I had an appointment at 5:30 and was sat down for my gel polish to soak off. I was there for an hour with my nails wrapped in foil and acetone. 2 people walked in after me, around 6pm, and started their soak off as well. At 6:15, those 2 people then had their manicure started while I was still sitting soaking. At 6:30 I finally asked what was going on because another person walked in and was soaking off. I was told that I had to soak longer because I had gel. This is false as gel takes only minutes to soak off in acetone. I left at 6:30 because my fingers were burning from being wrapped in foil soaking in acetone for 1 hour. This was entirely unprofessional and honestly dangerous. If you do not have the bandwidth to take multiple clients, say no to the walk-in's and focus on the people who have the...
