Teriyaki Madness — Restaurant in Saint Petersburg

I feel like 2.5 is the best rating I could give. The vibe is just not right.

I have been to this location twice. I’m not sure if I should go back. The food is pretty good but overpriced for what you get. You can get the same thing at Panda Express for cheaper. The only convenience is that this is closer.

What caught me was the service and atmosphere. The first time I went, there was a black man who welcomed me in and provided good service. The food was prepped quickly and it was a seamless experience. The second time I went (today) I was not greeted the same way. There was a young man at the register who seemed confused that I was asking for a teriyaki chicken bowl. My total came out to $19 and I put my change into the tip jar and the employee gave me a funny face :(

I waited about 30 minutes for a very simple order. The whole time I was waiting I could hear the boss disciplining (yelling) at the employees about company standards. They were yelling back and forth and it was uncomfortable to listen to. I thought my food would be prepared more quickly, so I stayed inside to wait. While I was waiting for my food, another lady inside began to complain about her meal. I think they may be having some staffing issues.

Edamame was really salty I recommend asking for less salt. I also recommend calling ahead for a lower wait time. I actually did try to call ahead today but nobody answered the phone.

Had I known it would take 45 minutes to an hour for my in house order, and then another 30 minutes for my 2 to go orders that I placed at the same time, I would have not placed orders and found somewhere else. I get that your team is busy but I shouldn’t be sitting there waiting to be told only after asking 55 minutes later that there would be another wait for my food because you guys are so backed up in the kitchen. The cashier gave us some food vouchers but waiting nearly a full hour for food because it’s too busy and not being told that your crew is backed up makes me not want to return. I placed two bowls for the restaurant with a side order of crab Rangoons around 12:15 and it wasn’t until 12:50 did we receive our food and we had to wait longer for your cashier to drop our crab rangoon into the fryer. I’m so just so extremely disappointed in your service and not only did I have a bad experience but there were at least 5 other people in the restaurant who were not told we were behind about 10-15...

I was excited to check out this new joint, cause I saw them on Ulmerton near Seminole, when I saw they had a restaurant in the Feather Sound, I suggested to my hubby we check them out.. The gentleman that took our order was friendly. We got the teriyaki bowl. However, the food was disappointing. We got the BOGO deal(I saw it on Facebook). My hubby got the teriyaki chicken with white rice, he thought it was eh. I got the steak teriyaki with veggies. The veggies were either frozen or not fresh. The steak was the flank beef, the type that should be used in Thai soup. It was over cooked. I read a review on Facebook after the fact that commented how tough the steak was. If I saw it in advance, I would have got the chicken. In truth, while the guy that took our orde was nice, we ended up spending $25 bucks.
