My family and I have been coming to Deccan spice since they opened and loved it as you can see below. Since they changed names and I’m going to assume chefs they suck. That’s the only thing I can think of to say about it. My family absolutely loved coming here but the last few times I’ve been there, I normally will order the tomato soup and it used to be the best anywhere, but the last few times I’ve had it it has been so salty and not good at all. I think they actually did change the chef. I had asked them if they were going to keep the one that they had because apparently he’s very good at what he does and they said that they were going to for sure they did but I have to think that they did not. My daughter has gone a couple of times recently and ordered the vindaloo. She is used to having hot stuff and knows how to order this and ordered it medium the first time because she’s always ordered it that way. So she gets it and it’s hotter than any Indian hot that I’ve ordered. So the next time she went, she ordered mild and it was so hot. It’s not that we cannot handle the heat because we can, but this was just awful. The last few times that we’ve ordered the butter chicken, It has not tasted right. I’m afraid if I try ordering the biryani, it would not be very good anymore. Unfortunately, we live in the neighborhood and love having a place right here but we will not be going back here again. We had sent a lot of people to eat here and they have all loved it until now. One of my friends also told me they will not be going back there. We had dinner there one night with them before it went bad and the kids were having fun trapping a huge roach on the floor. So it’s just gonna have to be no more with them. I will be going down the street to the young man who has an Indian place and is pretty good and hopefully it will be our new Indian place to eat. Sorry.
I just love their food here. It’s always fresh and always great. We love bringing friends and family here because we know the food will be good. My family loves getting the butter chicken, vindaloo, paneer tikka masala and the Deccan spice biryani special. Soooo good! I love mine spicy but they also offer it mild and medium so fear not! They have a full bar if wanted with Indian beer too. The mango lassi is so good and fresh. Oh and the naan! To die for! Garlic is our favorite. So much to try. They also have a grocery store that you can shop at either while you’re there or just come for the shopping. They do a lot of...
Read moreHere's a great review for Sacred Spice: A Culinary Journey to Remember at Sacred Spice! Sacred Spice isn't just a restaurant; it's an experience that transports your taste buds straight to the vibrant heart of India. From the moment you step through the doors, you're enveloped in an inviting ambiance that perfectly blends modern elegance with traditional warmth. The subtle aroma of spices hangs delicately in the air, hinting at the culinary delights to come. Our recent visit was nothing short of spectacular. We started with the Paneer Tikka, which was perfectly marinated and char-grilled to a tender perfection – a brilliant balance of smoky flavor and creamy texture. For our mains, we indulged in the Butter Chicken, which was incredibly rich and velvety, with just the right amount of sweetness to balance the savory notes, and the Lamb Rogan Josh, a dish bursting with deep, aromatic spices and fall-apart tender lamb. Each bite was a revelation. What truly sets Sacred Spice apart, beyond the exceptional food, is the palpable passion and attention to detail from the staff. Our server was incredibly knowledgeable, guiding us through the extensive menu with insightful recommendations and ensuring our glasses were never empty. The service was attentive without being intrusive, making us feel genuinely valued. The menu at Sacred Spice is a thoughtful curation of classic Indian dishes alongside some innovative twists, all prepared with an evident commitment to fresh, high-quality ingredients. Whether you're a connoisseur of Indian cuisine or looking to explore new flavors, there's something to delight every palate. Read moreThere’s not a thing I don’t love about this restaurant. ♥️
I’m an Southern, American gal who happens to LOVE LOVE LOVE India & has explored the many States, cultures, food options, etc, beautiful India has to offer. When I noticed Sacred Spice by my Church (FeatherSound), I got super excited. I had no idea just how many Indians lived in the area, nor that there were so many Indian restaurants nearby.
Even though, Sacred Spice is mostly made up of South Indians, they offer & capture all the different types of foods (even North) so well. Yummy!!!!! When I noticed they offer buffets on the weekends, I got extra excited. I love the variety.
I’m especially fond of their Saag Paneer & Gajar Ka Halwa. But, everything I’ve tried has been delicious. With any paneer dish, they give you a great portion of paneer, which makes my heart happy… considering most other Indian restaurants I’ve tried aren’t as generous with the paneer. Overall, their portion sizes are large, like the rice, enough for leftovers. You definitely get your money’s worth.
They also have a little shop with India’s best & memorable snacks like Parle G. It helps because you can avoid the drive to Patel Brothers for some items.
My favorite thing is the staff and atmosphere. I’m always welcomed with big smiles and just seeing all the aunties, uncles, & big families coming by makes me so happy & content. It makes me feel like I’m in India.
I’ll continue to be a repeat customer, rave about this place, & continue to bring friends by from near & far to try it out.
God bless this restaurant & may it...
