I’m not sure what’s going on with this location, Salem, MA but quality is very bad. This is the second time I have purchased muffins from the bakery and when I go to take them out of the aluminum tray they are baked and sold in, the bottom part of the muffin sticks to the tray and the muffin falls apart. Are they trying to save money by not “greasing” the baking tray?
Then, at the deli, if you ask for 2 lbs of ham, instead of packing the 2 lbs of ham separately, they jam the entire order into 1 bag, close it with the tab that runs across the top and then stick the pricing label over the closed tab. When you get it home and try to unseal the bag to reuse the resealable bag, the bag rips rendering it useless to use to store the ham. Not to mention, the ham is all folded and mangled and now comes apart in small strips instead of 1 slice at a time.
Also, the deli frequently runs out of presliced, prepackaged American cheese in the self serve section. If they know there’s a big demand for this, why aren’t they compensating for the demand?
Guess I’ll be going back to Danvers and Middleton where they’re a little more customer...
Read more2 stars only because they are the cheapest. Maybe it’s because I was raised in the south and was taught Southern hospitality. Maybe it IS possible to have all of the MASSHOLES working in one location. I loathe coming here because the carts are on the wrong side of the door, the cashiers roll their eyes so well they should be awarded medals, and the store is filthy. I ask myself each time whether it’s worth saving a couple bucks; I’m thinking not. The cashiers are the rudest individuals I have ever encountered. You can tell that they hate their jobs. They throw all of your things in bags; oh, you didn’t want smushed bread—should have gone to Whole Foods. I truly believe when they hire at this location, being able to eye roll, huff at customers and fierce RBF must be required. I don’t understand because so many people are hiring. It’s simple…no need to be a summers eve. And I’ve been in Massachusetts a while-I know the true MASSHOLES from the rude. It is possible to be polite. It’s the customers that give you tasks you’re PAID to do. If you don’t like to, find a job better suited for you. Manners would...
Read moreI got my breakfast sandwich, made fresh and hot at the grill with friendly service, and the sandwich was not burnt on the egg like the Danvers location was always made. This place could use an upgrade to be like the other Market Basket stores in nearby areas, such as adding a cafe and more grill items, They are always out of roaster chicken and parts which I like. They put them out in the morning and are there all day and usually dried out and tough later. I don't know who else is buying a cooked chicken at 6AM. Maybe it's only someone with a weird diet or a wild, vicious animal who shape-shifts into a human to satisfy ones hunger. There are crowds commuting over to the Danvers location just for this cafe since it's only a few miles more away, and the lines are ridiculous. Salem Ma. should have a café. They have room for it and would be a great asset to the company. In Salem NH, there is a Market Basket cafe just 2 miles down from another Market Basket cafe, so why not have one here too. Overall, I like this location, and the...
