I am only rating a 4 because I often find great items at this TJ Maxx, which I very frequently shop in. However, lately, I have noticed some things that are disappointing. The first being about being asked to open a credit card. I shop at TJ Maxx and Marshals at least once a week because it is in my means to do so and I enjoy the stores very much. Had I wanted to open a credit card, I've have done so years ago. In my last visit this week to this particular TJ Maxx, I was asked a total of 4 times in one transaction to open a credit card, despite politely saying no each time. I understand that employees are told to ask, but it's overbearing at this point and makes people uncomfortable. The other issue I've noticed, is almost every carriage is broken or has a wheel that isnt working (I realize that's not a huge problem but somewhat irritating every time I go in the store.) And lastly, and this is an issue I've seen particularly in this TJ Max (and I also realize this is not entirely the stores fault by any means) but almost every time I am in this store, there are countless kids running around, hiding under the clothing racks, yelling, and being totally disruptive and rude to other customers. Again, I know this is more a parenting issue than a TJ Maxx store issue, however, the store does absolutely nothing to prevent or stop it. I will continue to shop here but wanted to leave my comments as a...
Read moreIt's hit or miss at TJ Max in Salem. Sometimes when I go there I hit the jackpot & find all kinds of things 2 buy. Then other times I can spend 2 hours going through the racks and perusing the aisles & find absolutely nothing that sparks my interest. So u really have 2 go 2 the store & look 4 yourself as u can't find the inventory at that specific store online. There's not much in the way of help if u need it but the women at the cashier stations are usually friendly & helpful. The jewelry counter is either not staffed or there's an woman behind the counter who is clearly bothered if u ask her 2 get something out 4 u 2 look at. Sometimes there's great, high-end make-up & hair products at excellent prices but other times there's nothing besides the kind found at CVS. They usually carry some kind of high-end skin care too. All of it is priced so much better than u will find at Macy's or Sephora, even though it's the same everything. Overall, I can say it's probably worth it 4 u 2 go see what they have today if your...
Read moreTidy, large enough to find what I needed but not overwhelming. Reasonable prices and good selection though as always, selection will vary. I even got a great ugly holiday sweater, an annual must have. Elvira at the cash register was friendly and very helpful, volunteering a suggestion that helped me out. I normally avoid big stores if I can but this one was painless. Parking is free, there is handicapped parking, and the store is accessible. They take cash, credit, and debit and they do...
