Went in. Seemed nice at first. Had to take off my own nail polish because both workers were working on one customer (?) Sat and waited for a half an hour after being told it was a few minutes. So I knew what I wanted and got the picture ready and waited. And waited. Finally the lady in charge started working on me which started out well. Another lady came in and the other employee immediately wrapped the other customers fingers in a nail remover wrap. Ok. The lady working on me told me to keep the picture out if what I wanted out because she has "a bad memory" She does indeed. Before she painted my nails she asked me to pay. The lady before me paid when she left and the lady who came in after me was never asked to pay before continuing service. That was humiliating. So I just had my debit card as I rarely carry cash and that was a big deal. She kept asking of I had cash and I told her no. Gave her my card and she ran it through twice and told me it was not approved. Another humiliation. I knew for a fact that my card was fine and told her that. Magically the third time she ran it, it went through but she told me next time to bring cash. The customer next to me also told me she never carries cash either. So the lady started painting my nails. Before I realized , she started painting the branches I wanted . I told her they didn't look like the picture, but she kept going. I wanted tree branches with snow on them and a line of white on the tip of my nails. I kept asking and she kept going. So what I have look like bush branches and dots of white that's supposed to look like snow. I had to ask her also to make this snow consistent on all fingers. I guess she had thrown away the white paint on a board, so she retrieved it out of the trash (really?!!)They look awful. I normally don't say a thing as I try to look on the bright side and am really shy and nervous about telling people what's wrong and I was right as she continued to ignore my request for what I wanted . Two more customers came in as she was finishing the top coat. She told me I needed to sit under the dryer for 10 minutes. She went to work on the two girls who came in making small talk with them which is something she never did with me. 20 minutes later I had to go. She told me ten minutes . I told her it was more than 10 minutes and she kept saying ten minutes. All of a sudden, she seemed to have forgotten English. So while I was sitting there waiting for my nails to dry and dry, I noticed one of my nails was not shaped properly. I got up as I really was late and noticed polish on the underside of my finger. I asked for it to be taken off and for my nail to be shaped . I was ignored again. The other employee made an effort to get the paint off. I had to tell her twice that it was still there and that was it. No shaping my nail. No lotion or cuticle oil. Very crappy service and embarrassing nails. I have never written a review before, but this was awful. I will never go there again . I will try to post pictures of what I wanted and what I got. I'm sorry for the long review but I have to walk around like this and I can't afford to have them fixed. Its New Years Eve. I'm going out and that's why I got them done. So if I can post a picture here I will. I am posting a picture of what I wanted on Google and what I got. Look...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSo today I experienced 6th Avenue nail salon and at first it was pretty awesome pretty clean nice people but when it came to doing nails for a person who claimed they knew how to do nails and that they have been doing them for 25 years sure could not accommodate to the way that I would like my nails done she argued with me and suggested that she could continue to fix it assuming she could fix it but really just making it worse to the point where I asked her to take them off but I wanted my refund....It was crazy I had spent all day looking for a good nail shop because I did not want to invest in a place that might disappoint me.But no I did not suggest you go to this place to get anything with design or anything with acrylic other then that I haven't experienced the rest of what the place...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe staff at Sixth Avenue Salon are what make this salon special. You won't find more genuine people than Cindy and co.! On top of that, the polish is wide in color variety and very high quality. They do a really cool treatment with some kind of pink melted wax during a pedicure that's just so relaxing and fun. Can't recommend this place more. Though if you want to be seen, you must schedule an appointment! They do do walk ins, but you could wait anywhere from 15...
