Tapas, Vibes, and a Fireplace: A Night at Finca
We’d heard the buzz about Finca and its tapas, so we came hungry—and it did not disappoint. It’s a small, charming spot that feels like a converted house, complete with a fireplace and warm, welcoming energy.
We walked in on a Monday without a reservation and were seated right away. It was too chilly for the patio (which looks amazing), but we’ll definitely be back for that. The hostess was lovely, and our server asked if it was our first time (it was!). He walked us through the menu and shared a few of his personal faves—much appreciated when the tapas options are endless.
We started with our usual: a glass of white for me, red for my other half, and then dove into the menu.
First up: Jamón Serrano. When they say it comes with chips, they mean it literally—it’s served in an actual bag of chips, brand and all. A+ presentation and even better flavor.
Next: Tosta de Camarones. Grilled bread topped with a very generous portion of shrimp. We used the leftover chips from the first dish to scoop some up, and the combo was unexpectedly perfect.
Then came the Mejillones (mussels). A must-order for us whenever it’s on a menu. Huge portion, perfectly cooked, and served with grilled bread to soak up that crave-worthy broth.
Last: Patatas Bravas. A classic, but Finca nails it. Crispy, spicy, addictive.
We were full but tempted to keep going. Finca may be small, but it brings big flavor and cozy charm. Already planning our next visit—this time with friends and...
Read morePretty disappointed... The paella was awful, The rice was mushy and just funky. The seafood was way overcooked, there was no flavor, it seemed like it was missing a couple ingredients or used really cheap saffron or something. I don't know if you even used saffron. Tastes like you loaded up on paprika. But it just didn't taste right at all. Got the manchego cheese. Probably could have been a little bit bigger. The tosta de seta was good. Something gave us both some serious gas and heartburn, And I almost never get heartburn unless now food is old or cooked too many times and that's what it tastes. So like with the albondigas. It tasted almost like it was microwaved. It was extremely hot like too hot to come out of an oven. Just wasn't great. I don't know why you don't have non-alcoholic beer or possibly wine or anything for people that don't drink. It's Utah lol. Pretty bummed about that.. dessert menu was boring... I mean churros you get them the fair come on, And an on the cake. Sure the bag but not great but you should have had more options I think. I am a bit of a tapas snob, hold the GM El Farole in Santa Fe back in the day, So I have high expectations. Service was good, you guys really need to mark your tables better remove plates. I don't want to use the same plate for all the different foods. And your hostess was wearing a...
Read moreHad an unpleasant experience here tonight.
Fortuitously got sat immediately due to a cancellation, but had to wait 15 minutes to get water. We ordered as soon as we could and waited patiently for our food. After 45 minutes we inquired to the state and they went to check. Another 45 minutes go by and we are hangry and frustrated. We went 20 minutes without seeing ANY staff in the restaurant area. We finally flagged someone down and asked again about our food. She went to find out and one dish comes out 2-3 minutes later. Our server delievered it and was wondering why we were still staring expectantly. She completely forgot my wife’s order. We were running short on time, so there wasn’t much to do To fix it. She goes back and comes out with a steak and says “this came off the grill 20 minutes ago” and hands it to my wife... it was cold and gross. My paella was the worst I’ve ever had. We asked for the check and for the Waitress to do something to ease the frustration. She was taken aback and started asking us questions like ”well, when did you actually order?” And “did you even have a reservation”. For the first time in my life I asked to talk to the manager.
the manager did try to make it up by taking the steak off, but at this point, even a fully comped meal wouldn’t have brought back the time and lost...
