It's now beautiful greenspace in the city., but for many years this places' reputation was summed up in its slang name: "Dog Poop Park". But then the park was expanded to include the trails out to the north along Emigration Creek and a childrens play area added. Then the dog owners users of the space became probably the best group in town for picking up after their beloved pets. Now In theory, someday this park connects to the Blaine Ave Preserve to the south and then across 15th East to the far eastern boundary of Allen Park. This would then be one larger connected public riparian land. Birds of all kinds could thrive as would small animal species. Perhaps someday all of the land along the shores of the 7 Creeks of SL County would be reclaimed, donated, easements approved etc. and become greenspaces open to the public: City Creek, Red Butte Creek Emigration Creek, Parleys Creek, Millcreek, Big Cottonwood Creek, and Little Cottonwood Creek Imagine world class outdoor areas accessible to all each connected to the green spaces around the...

Though I don't know the status but some time ago years ago I noticed a homeless walk up from that area by the Presbyterian Church not saying nobody can go there, but when that starts to come it becomes very suspicious especially for that kind of neighborhood, you don't want it to end up like other parks like Sugar House (lately) because of that tunnel made a safe haven for them and Pioneer Park (at the time before they made them move to various parks and ruin them) and what else ah yes Fremont Park which has been hell for awhile especially recently. If you want your neighborhood ruined with crime and drugs you'll let them camp there, just saying especially the close proximity to the houses in that area.
But like I said that...
Read moreThis is actually an extension of Wasatch Hollow Park. Emigration Creek flows through this area on the northeast border. As of April 2016, this area is mostly closed for construction. Lots of debris and trash that has accumulated in this area is being removed, along with invasive, non-native plants and trees. Numerous improvements, such as paved and gravel paths, erosion control, fences, and an elevated boardwalk are planned. Once it is finished, it should be a really nice extension of the park, instead of the polluted garbage pile left by residents and squatters that...
