If you purchase an item especially a formal dress please please make sure you inspect it before agreeing to purchase. I purchased a formal dress, the dress did have some snags but very small, overall wearing it you would not notice them. At the time that was the last dress in that style and my size and since I did not want to loose the dress, I purchased it. The sales associate told me it would be no problem to return the dress if I decided not to keep it as long as the tags were still attached. I ended up going back to Dillards a couple of days later with my husband and purchased a different dress that he liked better with the assumption I could return the previous dress. When I went to return the dress the associate looked me up and down and immediately started inspecting the dress hem by hem. I was told at that time she would need manager approval to return the dress because it looked worn. She pointed out the tags were in the wrong place, under the arm, there were snags, and the bottom of the front of the dress had parts of the hem that were loose like they were caught on a shoe. Additional things I never thought to look at when I purchased the dress because besides the snags everything else to me looked fine. The previous associate also did not inspect the dress at the time she sold it to me. I knew of the snags only because a friend of mine was with me when I purchased the dress. We checked to see if there was another in my size and there was not. So I purchased the dress not wanting to loose the only dress in that style and size I needed. The associate manager came over and made the same decision. The dress must have been worn. At that time I was so taken aback by the horrible customer service. I purchased the dress in the same condition I was trying to return it in and now it was unfit to wear. I asked for someone above her. Denise came over, I tried to introduce myself and shake her hand, even tried to her show her the receipt of the other dress I had purchased at Dillards. She did not care, she did not shake my hand nor did she look at the additional receipt of the other purchase. She looked at the dress and then me and said I must have worn the dress because there was no way Dillards would have sold a dress in that condition. I felt as if I was a liar, as if I was trying to commit some horrible crime. Denise then told me all she could do was offer to re-bag the dress and send me on my way. Lessoned learned, if you purchase a formal dress at Dillards within Rolling Oaks Mall please make sure you inspect it thoroughly. If not you may not get your money back even if you have...
Read moreI am not a frequent dillards shopper & after today's experience I most definitely never will be. The original sales ladies who failed to inform me of their return policy which I unfortunately found out when I tried to return my items today from the young lady at the counter who told me she could not refund my money nor exchange it for the proper size. That didn't seem correct so I asked to speak with the supervisor of the department. When she called for her supervisor she didn't even bother to speak with me, a customer who requested her assistance. Instead she gave the less experienced girl instructions to repeat to me. She suggested I donate my items to a women's shelter & be on my way. Seriously!? When I told her that was not satisfactory & her supervisor just provided poor customer service so I would like to speak to her store manager. I then asked for her supervisor's name & she was reluctant to give it to me. I asked for the 3rd time & she finally said Michelle.
FYI dillards Michelle is providing poor customer service & using your less experienced employees at her disposal.
I asked for the head manager in charge this young girl was clueless so I asked for their customer service department and if I would find the store manager there the girl couldn't even verbalize a definitive answer. I walked away with my return to look for this customer service department & the lady who finally acknowledged me stated she had no idea why I would have been directed there for a manager but at least she made an effort to find the store manager who was just on the otherside of the door adjacent to this customer service desk. The store manager came out and while I was explaining my experience she didn't seem surprised nor asked any questions just gave an artificial sorry for your experience & I'll address this issue with the employee & went over the return policy & mentioned I could just shop dillards online since I wasn't a frequent customer with dillards, so because I'm not a frequent dillards shopper I don't deserve better and was treated this way because of it? I may not be a frequent dillards shopper but I'm definitely seeing a theme through this store of unexceptional experiences & a lack of employee/management integrity. Learned my lesson. I would encourage other customers to not waste their time/money in dillards &...
Read moreTERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I have been buying BORN sandals from Dillards for the last 20 years but that stops today. I bought a pair of BORN sandals for Father's Day on 06/20/2022 and paid $89. He is a 20 year RETIRED DISABLED MARINE. The stitching on the heel of the sandal is coming undone. So, I took them back to Dillards and requested an exchange on 08/20/2022. I realize it is beyond their 30 day return policy. However, it is a defective product that needs to be replaced. Albert/Manager, said there was "nothing" he could do. I then called their corporate office and spoke with David Gamez. I explained the situation only to have him say, "Sorry, it is beyond the 30 day return policy. We cannot do the exchange". He was short and curt with me-THE CUSTOMER! I never imagined that a big corporation like Dillards would not stand behind the product they sell. I have always believed that Dillards sells "quality" products and that is why we pay a little more. I now know this is no longer the truth. Unfortunately, I will not be shopping at Dillards anymore. I recommend you take your money to another retailer. Macy's has always been...
