I went yesterday (10/19/21) to this store because I wanted to return a carry on bag, but couldn't do it because the saleslady told me EB no longer carries their Lifelong Return/Exchange Guarantee on their products. I told her I completely understood. I just pointed out how bad my bag was (the 4 wheels get constantly stuck and the handle doesn't come out easily). And then this other lady (blue eyes, short blonde hair) comes up and tells me "That's your personal opinion, it's not a factory defect" with a loud voice. I was shocked, never expected such a terrible attitude from any EB employee. It's not like a was the typical stubborn customer (I work at sales too). I really hope the company reads this and coach store managers and clerks they can't treat...
Read moreI’ve been a long time Eddie Bauer buyer, at least 40 years. Recently went into return a jacket that I had taken to Europe for an extended stay; it failed miserably. See seal peeled away, allowing water to get in and I was soaked. Went back to return it today and I was told that even though it says 100% guaranteed on the label of the jacket that Eddie Bauer no longer is a lifetime warranty provider. Talking to the manager, she would not even send it back, asking for it to be repaired. Very disappointed with the rude manager and terribly disappointed with a company that prides itself on being American made and now they will no longer stand by there products. It use to be that if you bought something from Eddie Bauer it was guaranteed to satisfy you no matter what. Not the case anymore it seems. Have had much better In Store experiences at REI and they understand that outdoor gear, sometimes doesn't work when you wear it and they honor and stand by their brand. This was the second time this has happened at the local store at Huebner in the last few years. Seems like nothing much has changed as far as customer service goes. Online it's great! Probably why I don't shop at the store...
