First of all let me start by saying that this visit to Vista Vision Premier Family Eyecare located at 427 North Loop 1604 W. ste 203, San Antonio, TX was the worst experience ever! As soon as we went in the lady at the front desk greeted us and was very polite, I told her I didnât have time to fill out the paperwork online, to this her reply was âno problem I have copies here you can fill them out right now,â everything was fine to this point, when a woman came out of an office Dr. Toni Racoma, whom we had never had the pleasure to meet before, because it was going to be our first visit. She came out telling me that they had called and texted me to that my reply was âIâm so sorry, I apologize, I was not aware of that.â I have so many other appointments that I honestly overlooked the text message they had sent. Although it all pertained to filling out the paperwork, something I could do when I get to their office. She came out with such a passive aggressive attitude towards my daughter and I which made us feel very uncomfortable, she told us she was the owner to which I replied âyes, I can tell, youâre making it obviousâ. There was no need for her to say that. She even had the audacity to tell us that it was better for us to leave, after I told her we were sorry but that with her attitude we...
Read moreI saw Dr. Racoma at Vista Vision (a new eye doctor for me) for an eye exam and purchased a new set of progressive lenses for existing frames in February. I had problems with distance vision using the new lenses that have not improved after a few weeks of wearing them. After visiting the office to double check the lenses and fit of the glasses they verified that the lenses were built correctly and no amount of adjustments would fix the problem. The optician told me and I agreed that it's likely a problem with the prescription I received. Unfortunately I was told that for the doctor to double check their work I would have to pay full cash price for second $169 office visit. Additionally, if a prescription change is necessary I would have to pay full price ($600) for a second set of lenses.
I just wanted to leave a review to make people aware that the financial responsibility for an error in the prescription at this practice is born 100% by the customer. I've been wearing glasses for 50 years. This is not what I have seen before in other practices. So buyer beware. I will not be going back to this doctor and I recommend you don't either. I will be choosing an eyecare provider that stands behind their work.
Best of luck with whoever you choose for...
Read moreRecently I noticed that my vision didnât seem as clear - I seemed to need more light. and then I starting seeing floaters and flashes of light. I called Dr. Racomaâs office and they were able to fit me in for an emergent appointment the very next day. My experience with Dr. Racoma and her staff at Vista Vision has been one of the best health care experiences I have ever had. Dr Racoma quickly recognized that my symptoms were potentially serious and did a very thorough exam. She promptly diagnosed the problem and determined that I would not need to see ophthalmology - and therefore was very reassuring. She also found that my eyeglass prescription had changed quite a bit, so she fit me with a new prescription, and now I can see so much better. She also fit me for custom contacts, which is another big improvement from my last experience with contacts. I have seen a lot of optometrists and ophthalmologists over the years and feel certain that Dr. Racoma is providing superior quality care, compared to the very good care that I have experienced in the past. The level of service she provides is so high, I expected to pay a bit more, but her prices were actually a bit less. Two thumbs...
