I visited this place for their Mother’s Day event. I made reservations for 4 at 1:00, it was $40 a person. I was so excited to do this tea event. When we arrived, we waited to be seated, they had to put out extra tables because there wasn’t enough room. They put two other tables by the counter, we did not get to sit in the main area. It was crossed and the chairs were flimsy as they were folding chairs. It was super tight where we were sitting. The service was good considering they had two people working. They stayed several people called in. It was only 1:00 and they said they ran out of some ingredients. It was very poor planning on their part. I felt bad for the servers, they were doing the best they could. I felt we didn’t get the same service as the main part of the place. Their tea was served for them, we served our own tea. Our food came out real late and it was not worth $40 a person. We got some cucumber sandwiches, fruit, macarons and scones. But, we paid for 4 people and got 1 2-tiered tray with small bites. We got the same amount as the table next 2 us who had only 2 people. The place knew how many people they were having because you had to make reservations, but the planning was horrible. The tea was good. We stayed about 2 1/2 hours because it took so long to get our teas and tray. We were starving when we left and had to have lunch elsewhere. The place is cute and had potential. We were just very disappointed in their...
Read moreOver the weekend, some special friends joined me for a lovely tea party at la Tea da located at 434 N Loop 1604 W, Suite 1101, San Antonio, TX 78232.
We had such a great time sampling some of the many tea options available. “Todd” was a wonderful tea “sommelier” explaining about the various teas, origins, and incredible fragrances and our servers Carly and Devine were amazing. Yes, the hot teas we tried were as good as they smelled. I dare say we might have a few tea converts among us. They have cold teas I tried from the Tea Taps in the cutest tiny teacups.
White covered tables, beautiful plates, and exquisite teacups were set up for our tea party, something my mom would have absolutely loved! We had refreshing and delicious little cucumber sandwiches with tasty macaroons and fresh strawberries and blueberries.
One of our very young ladies really enjoyed the play area with lots of fun toys. Even the teen in our group had a great time. I hadn’t seen some of the folks in a while so it was good to just visit and catch up while enjoying a cup of tea!
A tea party is a great way to showcase a hat collection and my dear friends, I so appreciated your indulgence. One in our group even sported an elegant fascinator of her own!
Shout out to Shelly Miles and San Antonio Living for spot lighting such a great local business and letting us have...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of attending an event at laTEAada, and I must say, it was an experience that left a lasting impression. From the moment I stepped into the venue, I was enveloped in a sense of warmth and welcome.
The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the opportunity to explore the diverse range of teas on offer. Each variety came with its own story and set of benefits, making the experience not just enjoyable but educational as well. It’s clear that laTEAada is not just about serving tea; it’s about cultivating an appreciation for the natural essence of tea, without relying on excessive sugar or artificial ingredients.
Meeting Leah, the owner, added a personal touch to the experience. Her passion for building community through through her business was evident with a “Network for Networkers” wall. This wall showcases the businesses of her customers, creating a supportive environment for small business owners and entrepreneurs. This emphasis on connection and community is what sets laTEAada apart from others.
This place a is a gem. I highly recommend laTEAada to anyone looking for a refreshing break from the everyday, in the company of good tea and even...
