This company lets you sell your Magic the Gathering cards, and offers only 40% cash back, yet takes all your cards. Where as 4 other stores in the area, all give 50-55% cash back with all cards given. Over time, we have sold many cards probably, 1500 cards have been given to him in 1 month, and have only gotten back in $470 which is what should have been 50%. We had 3 different people check today the value of cards we just tried to bring in today, worth $107.00, and Will, the worker that apparently takes “all cards” just gave us $23.00 for that $107.00 and kept every single card. He insisted their value was only $56. If that were the case and he gave us $23… that’s half.. 50%, something they “say they don’t do” every time we’ve come in there prior. So they one minute take 50%, one minute take 40%, all cards, or no cards, cards worth this value or cards with that value. One day say “we’re not taking in cards today for awhile” and the next day they say of course, why wouldn’t we take cards. That is cheating us out of money, and time we have spent gathering cards together. We have been selling cards for a lot longer than just this month, and this store is cheating its customers out of money. It seems like they don’t want to pay out for what cards are worth, which isn’t fair to customers. If they don’t have the money to pay customers, just say that. But don’t offer low amounts, for cards clearly worth a lot more. It seems they just wanted to buy them in, and made up a random number “they were worth” which really sucks. This store has been one we’ve gone to for quite some time, and after this we simply don’t think we will trust them anymore with our time, our cards, and our money. They have cheated us, and that isn’t right. He basically wanted all of the cards we took time to gather, without giving us the amount they were worth. Which should have been around $40-$50, not $23.00. Based on what these...
Read moreSaw my post was two years old now, so quick update. It's 2018 and DG is still awesome! Chicken soup for the gamer's heart!
I have been wargaming, TT, RPGing, GMing, and board gaming for over 20 years. The owners, Josh and Amy, are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. I really enjoy coming here on a regular basis because the atmosphere is amazing. What do I mean by this? I have been to many other gaming stores across the US and in many cases you'll find that the owners aren't really into gaming, or are very exclusive ("we only play Magic" as an example), or that they aren't really that nice. Dungeon Games is, beyond the shadow of a doubt, the best gaming store I have ever been to. The community of gamers are quite simply a breath of fresh air. Within a few days after putting up a flyer telling the public that I am running a Shadowrun game each week, I had seven awesome players ready to go, with more on the way. It's a lot of fun to GM when you have really good players. The decor in the place is innovative and neat. It's really something to behold. How many places can you go where the bathroom is Call of Cthulhu themed? How many places have a secret door and a dungeon room just for running RPGs with a dry erase marker-compatible GM table? How many places can you find numerous huge tables inlaid with beautiful maps for general gaming? How about a bunch of flat screen TVs with hookups so you can watch your favorite movies while you game? DG also has free game nights each week too, where they crack open a board game to showcase it Check out DG. I assure you there's something fun...
Read moreI would give this shop more than 5 stars if I could. I've been coming here since they opened and have never looked back. The owners, employees, and community has been the most welcoming and wholesome group I've ever been to in the 15+ years I've been playing tabletop games.
Whereas most other stores I've frequented in that time have had problems ranging from business practices to toxic clientele, Dungeon has had the most down-to-earth crew of people running it while still keeping a needed level of professionalism, and most of the players who frequent the shop have been overwhelmingly kind and accepting. I know the owners have put their heart and soul into this place, and it's shows both in the shop itself and the customers it attracts. They've got a wide variety of stock in MTG, D&D, Warhammer, board gamee, and have been more than helpful whenever requested for a specific item that might not be on the shelves. Even the decorations are extravagantly well done and help sell the vibe of the shop. I can't imagine frequenting another shop, and if I ever have to move away, it's going to be the one place I miss most of all.
Also heavily LGBTQ+ friendly, which has been an absolute godsend for me and my self discoveries over the...
