Motor City Coney Island Ft Myers 3-25-25 We had to stop by here on a Tuesday for their special priced Coney Island Hot Dog at $2.99. We arrived there at 11:37 with just a couple tables with customers at them, but the place was not packed. This place was neat and very clean with everything in order. I loved the interior, the little bar area and Patio out front. Let me start by saying my expectations were not set high as I figured I’m going to review a place that just serves hot dogs. Boy was I wrong! This place exceeded all my expectations by a mile and then some. They serve so much more than Hot Dogs; they serve Breakfast all day, they have all kinds of Salads, Wraps, Melts, Pittas, Clubs, Gyros, Burgers, Fish and serve Beer and limited Alcohol. They will even Cater events for you. I ordered the Original Coney which had Chillie, Onion & Mustard. My wife Ordered the Tuna Wrap. Our friend ordered the Chili Cheese Dog which came with Chili and Cheese Sauce. We all ordered a side of Fries with our main orders. Our food came out a short time later and it looked amazing. I could not believe how good our food was. My Dogs were piled high with toppings. This was by far the best Hot dog I had in this area. My wife’s Tuna wrap was very good and so big she could not eat the entire wrap. Our friend loved his Chili Cheese dog. All our food was hot and plenty of it even the Fries were good. Our waiter Freddy was spot on with checking on us. We even met one of the owners Armando which took the time out to introduce himself. You must put this place on your Must Stop By List you will not be sorry and certainly stop back just like we are going to do. I give this Motor City Coney Island a 5 out of 5 stars for the great food, great service, friendly servers, and clean place. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Follow Me On FB For More...
Read moreI am from Flint, and miss our restaurants something awful. We’ve had “coney island” style restaurants come and go, but none have captured the essence of a coney island (in my opinion). We stumbled upon this location and had to give it a shot.
Firstly, this place is clean and inviting. To be fair it’s just opened, but I think/hope they keep up the cleanliness and upkeep. When you walk in you’re greeted by the smell of delicious diner foods and the sound of laughter. They have not went the overly obnoxious way of loud music or an abundance of TVs on the wall, although there are a few TV’s but they are not distracting.
Secondly, the food was amazing. The coney and flint sauces were some of the best, and if the rumors are true they may have Koegels dogs here soon. The corn beef hash is made from scratch and cooked to the perfect crisp, so every bite has the amazing crunch hash should have.
Thirdly, the staff was awesome. We sat ourselves and within 2 min multiple servers had asked us how our day was and if we needed anything. Our waiter (Ray) was fun and energetic. He kept an eye on us and we didn’t wait for anything. As normal for a Coney Island the entire staff helps out I believe we talked with all of the servers at least once throughout our meal, and at no point did we get the feeling we were being rushed or bothered.
This place is something I didn’t realize I needed until I walked in. This place is a bit of home and is filled with amazing people. We will 100000000% be back...
Read moreI am from Detroit. I have been here in Florida for over 14 years. One of the places I used to love to go was Lafayette Coney Island, downtown Detroit.
Recently, I relocated from Lakeland down to Fort Myers, and trying to decide what to eat one night when I stumbled upon motor city. There’s another Detroit style Coney Island about two hours away, but I thought this place is 10 minutes from the house. Why not give it a try. To say I love this place is not even scratching the surface. I decided to go through the drive-through after a long day at work. I ordered two Coney dogs with no mustard, which is my style always, a fry and a Mountain Dew. The lady working the drive-through was extremely polite, friendly, and even made sure that our order was correct because the speaker was giving her problems.
I highly recommend this place. The chili on the coney dogs tastes like Hormel brand to me. The fries were hot and good. I will definitely come back when I can sit down inside. The hotdogs are definitely authentic Detroit style hotdogs. Right down to the natural casing.
For everybody, who is looking for some Detroit or Flint style food, in Fort Myers, this is the place.
It will be difficult for me to try other things because when I come to a place like this, I always want a Coney dog, but I will try some other things. They offer Flint style and Chicago style...
