Island Park Shopping Center — Local services in San Carlos Park

We moved to the area way back in 2003. At that time this small shopping plaza was bustling with small shops, a Publix with a CVS next to it and a nite club for all to enjoy. For years it was the only shopping for south Ft Myers residents within our area. Went through Charlie and Wilma unscathed . After a few years Publix pulled out and moved a mile south and took CVS with them. Since then other businesses have come and gone and times htave changed. Now it is just a shadow of itself. Went to the Clam bake after hearing about this...authentic new England seafood and had to see for ourselves. Being from NH, and being spoiled with all seafood we had to go. Other than a few good local restaurants, this place is mostly empty. The former supermarket is occupied by a trucking company. The speed bumps are horrible.
