Buckley & Co. Jewelry — Local services in San Clemente

We checked out Buckley for engagement rings after stopping by 2 larger/chain stores. Thinking we had already found a good deal, my Fiance found them on Reddit and suggested we just stop by to double-check our current selection.

The only mistake we made was not going to Buckley sooner. The owner, Colin, and his local team custom make all the jewelry. That sounded expensive to us, but we were very pleased to see that we were wrong. Custom, to them, just means that pretty much anything can be done, and doesn't carry additional costs to do so. My fiance showed Colin the ring we had in mind, and he said that he would model it up (they use 3D CAD software) and would make 2 physical resin castings of the ring in 2 different styles so she could see and feel how it would fit and sit on her hand. She picked her favorite, and they got to work. The agreed upon cost was significantly lower than the other pre-made designs we saw elsewhere! Note that all this work to this point had zero out-of-pocket costs, which was just incredible.

We also sourced the amazing green fancy diamond through them as well. The same quality, cut, color, etc that we were seeing at other stores was much more affordable and reasonable at Buckley.

Even after the ring was constructed, and she was wearing it for a month, they reworked the ring to tweak it just a bit more to her liking, and Colin did so without any hesitation or additional charge. He wanted to make sure it was perfect. Photo in the box was the original, photo on the hand is the final result (smaller side diamonds, surprisingly).

I never write reviews but I can’t recommend this awesome place enough. After inheriting my grandmother’s wedding ring, I needed someone to place the diamond in the original setting that my grandfather gave it to her in. I called around to multiple local jewelers and just did not get a good feeling from any of them. Either they acted too busy or self-important or they just didn’t give me a feeling of security about leaving my grandmother’s ring with them for service. I resigned myself to the fact that I would have to travel a distance to find someone that I felt comfortable with. Then I stumbled upon Buckley & Co. From the first minute of phone conversation, all the way through the process, I felt nothing but wonderful feels. Collin spent so much time and attention to detail with me and made sure I felt comfortable before leaving my grandmother’s ring with him. Then when I got the ring back, it looked so unbelievably beautiful that it took my breath away. Buckley & Co is an exceptional place - as kind as they are skilled. Colin is a phenomenal artist who offers impeccable customer service! I originally visited Buckley & Co Jewelry in San Clemente to repair the band of my engagement ring, as it is an heirloom from my great grandmother and the platinum of the band had worn through. Colin repaired the band quickly for an extremely fair price and I was so impressed with his work that I returned to have a custom wedding band made to match the vintage style of my engagement ring. Colin listened carefully to what I had in mind, offered extremely helpful suggestions on the design, and incorporated diamonds from another piece of family jewelry which made the band extra meaningful. Throughout the process, Colin was responsive, helpful, and customer-oriented, and I was incredibly pleased with the end result! The custom band looks as if it is original to the heirloom engagement ring, and I could not be happier with it. Even though I do not live in San Clemente currently, I would definitely come back to Buckley & Co Jewelry for any important jewelry needs, as I know Colin and his team give their work the utmost care and attention.
