CONSIGNORS BEWARE My furniture was picked up for consignment while the owner of the store was out of town. There was no contract signed (or even seen), and no clear agreement in place yet. While my furniture was still on the truck the next day, I was contacted by a potential buyer from a previously running Craigslist ad I'd been running, who drove 45 minutes to see a couple of items. The person working at the store let us into the truck and the buyer agreed to come back later in the day to buy. I contacted the store owner in writing to let him know and offer payment. Instead, he called me, belligerent, screaming and intimidating, and would not listen to any reason. He refused to allow access to my furniture, even though the buyer offered to purchase through the store directly. He insisted the buyer wait until the following day when he was back from his trip. The buyer could not come then and so there was no sale.
It became a worse nightmare when, the next day, I wrote the owner that his behavior was unacceptable and inappropriate, and I would not tolerate being treated that way -and I was terminating any further business. He then refused to deliver my furniture back to me, even though I put in writing that I would pay him the original $75 he charges to pick up your stuff, and another $75 to return my items. He said I would have to get my own truck and pick up my furniture because it was sitting out back where he'd left it in the alley/parking lot and he was not responsible for it. When I got there an hour later, it was nearly dark, and some of my antiques were in the alley, others pulled in behind locked door. He would not open the door until I paid him the $75, made me sign something about how I "agreed" to pay him, then refused to give me a copy of what I signed, only a charge receipt. Once my things were out and we were loading onto a rental UHaul, he shut the door so there was no light. They offered no help. I have to be grateful, after reading other reviews posted on Google Reviews, that I got out early before any...
Read moreBe very careful when consigning through this store I am in the middle of trying to find out why they donated an item of mine when I had spoke with Morgan to extend for a additional 90 days. First problem I am having is Morgan no longer works there second problem is that nobody working there has the skills to investigate how, what and why this happened and what they will do to compensate me, the only person who can is the owner. The owner has not been around even though each employee there told me I would hear back before 2pm the next day. It's now been a week and still no resolution. Thirdly they must think I am lying about the steps I took to make sure this wouldn't happen if they feel they need to investigate. Will update this review once and if I hear back...
