Boy o boy oh Boy!! This is a Classic American Breakfast n Lunch Cafe!!!
Located right on PCH, the view is what one would expect of a Sweet Small Surfside California Town: cool cats, cool cars and beautiful skies out across the street.
Inside, it is a taste of home and old school Café. Local artworks adorn the walls, and the seating and tables are not only aesthetically pleasing but also spaced perfectly for foot traffic flow in the main dining room so you can move about freely without worry of bumping anyone or anything.
Our waitress was very nice, very lovely and personable (Although I do appreciate it when servers introduce themselves at the outset.) And made us feel very welcome and let us take the time to really SEE the full menu options. We didn't feel rushed which is nice.
The menu is Awesome, and makes choosing a real Treat with so many Great Options.
We arrived at 11:30 am, so I could've had brekkie or Lunch, and the choosing was difficult with so many amazing options.
I went with the IRISH OMELETTE (featuring corned beef hash inside, with mushrooms onions and cheese) and she had the Veggie Eggs Benedict.
The food was on our tables in less than 5 minutes after ordering and the portion; WOWZERS. My dining plate was full, from edge to edge, as was hers. And piled HIGH, too!!!
Mmmm-mmmmh-mmmmmh!!!!🤤🤤😋
I don't know if it's just me, but when did everything become so expensive!?!?!🤷♂️🤷♂️
Today's bill, Breakfast for two people with tax and 20% TIP was just over $50.00... When did that happen??
Sadly, I am finding that the price here is consistent with almost every other Private Business Diner or Café I've been in this year.
I recognize Inflation, as well as RISING FOOD COSTA in America, however it make it so that even going out for Breakfast is becoming a LUXURY.
We will be back...
Read moreWe were heading back home from a stay in Dana point & discovered our tire was flat, we stopped in at the Big O tires to get the flat tire fixed and they recommended the sunrise cafe to take the kids to breakfast, so we walked over to the sunrise cafe, we were instantly greeted and sat right away, the staff was so kind so friendly, Our food was delicious!!!!! We left the cafe walked back to Big O tires to pick up our vehicle and get back on the road for a 10 hour drive to home .. 3 hours into our drive, my son panics and says mom I left my retainers wrapped in the napkin at the sunrise cafe, (retainers are expensive to replace) I thought it was a long shot but worth trying, we called and sunrise cafe, Lexie answered the phone (she was our waitress) I begin to explain the situation & ask if there’s any chance they could look in the trash, (realizing, knowing what I was asking was out of the ordinary & gross to rummage through trash looking for retainers wrapped in a napkin) Lexie was so kind, she said let me see what we can do, she took my phone number down & told me she would call me either way. I said thank you & we ended the call. A few minutes later I received a text saying the trash was already taken out to the dumpster. I replied no worries I understand, and I thanked her for her efforts.. A few minutes later she text me again saying “we’ve got them “ what’s your address and I’ll send them to you… I couldn’t believe it! They did not have to do that for me, I couldn’t believe it, we are so incredibly grateful! we had already loved our experience at sunrise cafe, this experience has left a forever impression and impact ! Thank you Lexie! Thank you Miguel thank you thank you thank...
Read moreHadn’t been there since new owner took over. Was greeted and seated quickly. Food came out fast. Daughter ordered choc chip pancakes. She could only eat half. Portions were good but a lot of chips and kinda overwhelmed her pancakes. I ordered the ham scramble. When I got mine the eggs were still slimy so I sent it back. Waitress returned with my plate and you could tell they just threw the entire thing back on the griddle and then put it back on my plate by the color and dark edges of the eggs and ham. Ham was large cubed pieces of the lowest grade ham you could by. It was flavorless and rubbery. The cheese in my scramble was totally Burnt from throwing it back on the grill. Toast was burned and not buttered. So dry it just crumbled when you took a bite. Needless to say I didn’t eat much of my meal. We will not be back...
