I've been shopping at Aritzia for a very long time now. Majority in New York. It seems like many customers have had the same experience as me at this location. There is definitely room for improvement from employees and management. It seems they do judge you instantly upon arrival. Upon arriving there were many associates on the floor, all seem very young and probably very new to retail or even the job field. Not all, but some were very bland/rude. When I walk by anyone I usually just smile, especially when I am in very close proximity. One employee when I went in and walked by just had an absolutely prude look on her face. She was wearing a brown blazer and ripped flare jeans. No smile, no welcome. She was on the floor restocking and was very unprofessional in the way she looked interacted with guests and even her colleagues, acting very juvenile and tawdry. She was also just stomping around as she walked. I have and do work in luxury hotels and this would have never been allowed. I went to the dressing room and the associate there was lovely (i believe asian and wearing a mini with the cutest black boots). Instant genuine smile on her face as she looked at you. Her presence, outfit, and demeanor would easily attract customers in and Im sure have. (please never change the way you treat guests, it really makes you standout). I believe the manager was also walking around the floor, she was okay. Her presence could have been more genuine. Again, seemed snobby and rude. It made me turn around and leave. Maybe her employees think they have to act the same as her. Monkey see, monkey do. I went over to Alo and wow what a stark difference. Very welcoming and inviting associates. I was more than happy to spend my money there. Aritzia employees, do better. This isn't high school, act professional and with elegance.
*Also, PLEASE remove items on the floor that have deodorant stains on them. I saw at least 5 with obvious stains and was...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreYikesā this used to be an enjoyable place to shop but maybe theyāve changed their pay structure because itās screaming ācommissionā after this last visit. The girl who helped me was cool but then pretended to care about my purchases as I was leaving the fitting room but it was completely disingenuous (no eye contact, āok, yep, okā to everything I said⦠even though she asked). Then, I got to the counter and the manager insisted that I come up to the counter before there was anyone available to help me so I could be up there next to her while she folded my clothes. It was super awkward and I could have given the girl who was actually paying for her stuff her space and just stayed in line. It felt like I was on an assembly line the way they were putting me places. Then, the gal who checked me out had an attitude when I wanted to order something online but they didnāt have the color available. I think she thought I would just pick another color so sheād still get a sale? Iām not sure but she did not want her time wasted. Iām annoyed about the whole experienceā people on the sales floor even nudged me out of the way to carry stuff around and do their put backs⦠like, Iām the one here to shop and youāre treating me like Iām in the way. Iām going to go back to online shopping and just returning the things that donāt fit to the store cause this was just rouuuggghh.
Oh, lastly, there are not mirrors in most of the rooms anymore so I had to model my sports bras for the crowd to make a decision. Iām not even shy but who the heck...
Ā Ā Ā Read morei mainly go to this branch as it is near my home, however, i plan to stop going here and plan to either go to The Grove location or abandon the Aritzia brand for The Row as they have more consistent welcoming store associates.
each time i go to the UTC location, only when i went during winter time, do store associates welcome and provide assistance to me. its also hostile when a loyal customer of Aritzia for casual business attire is being hovered and followed when iām comparing different pieces to one another for my liking.
stomping and speed-walking after the section of clothes i touched to āaggressivelyā fix it does NOT make my in-store experience pleasant.
this has happened every season i visited the UTC Aritzia for the past 2 years for career-choice clothing, and iāve excused this behavior as a customer long enough.
clearly the rare times store associates welcomed me were seasonal hires and not the full-time employees.
this branch is not worth the time and hostility, and Aritzia employees reflect them as a brand. they clearly hire full-time workers with a particular attitude. they also donāt answer the phone for questions too, so i end up needing to go in-store for info.
Aritzia is not the only business casual attire of this style i like, and iām glad there are other brands like them but with...
