Ā Ā Ā Read moreI wanted to expand the storage on a TIVO (increase from 1TB to 2 TB). TIVO compatibility chart lists the 15 characters model number. Sellers list only the first 8 characters. All seller I contact until DISCTECH would not honor their listing pictures or work with me. Val took the 7 disc drive model numbers (the full 15 character numbers) to the warehouse staff and came back with the drive I should order. It arrive quickly, was the correct 15 character model number, TIVO accepted it (TIVO had already rejected my first three tries from other suppliers), added the storage, and it worked!!! What great extra service. No other supplier that I contacted was willing to provide this needed level of service. Great Job and much appreciate. BTW, I just ordered a second drive so I have a spare in case I have a drive failure in the future - I will not have to repeat the frustration and considerable level of effort it took to get to the right company/person. Our IT company has been struggling to find a reliable and knowledgeable resource for our Dell Server disk needs (we oversee some 700+ Dell servers). Other companies in the third party Server Supply space have sucked (selling used sketchy stuff), and this is where DiscTech has been a breath of fresh air. On my first call in about a complicated SAN storage need, the person that answered the phone (Val at ext. 104) was super knowledgeable, willing to engage, and helped us find a solution. Great follow-up and the pricing was a fraction of what Dell is currently charging directly today. Parts arrived on schedule 2 days later.
