Was really looking forward to having breakfast here with a friend. 30 minute wait, should be ok. I am a diabetic, sometimes long waits can be problematic.
When we were seated after about 25 minutes, I realized my blood sugar was dropping. We waited and waited to place our order. Once the order was placed, several others around us who had placed their orders after we had received their food. When our orders arrived, mine was missing muffin which is the source of carbohydrate that I need to stop the blood sugar from going any lower.
We asked for the muffin to be brought to the table from three different servers and bussers. One even had to make sure to stop and set the silverware at two tables before coming over to help us. Even though he has been told I was a diabetic and this was urgent.
The food as always was good, and I know many places have been having problems being short staffed. However, most people know when if they do not the employer needs to do training so that if they are told someone is a diabetic and they need something urgently that they need to bring it now. Otherwise that person that the item was requested for could lose consciousness and have a medical emergency.
Needless to say, it will be a long time if ever before I return to the broken yolk. If you have any kind of medical condition that may require you to get to your food quickly, this is not the...
Read more3 weeks ago I went to Broken Prison Cafe, I mean broken cafe, and yes, the system is broken. I feel like people are forced to be there, no smile, no thank you, no welcome, no refills.
May 7th, 2019, I gave them another chance, walked in, no smile, no welcome, lady working at the front door, where you greet and welcome people had a face of the Owl. She took one menu and I followed here to a table, she threw the menu on the table and took off.
"You greet the guests, welcome them, you walk them to the table, after they sit, you put the menu front of them and say your server will be right with you"
Server comes over and says, can I get you something to drink? Yes please, coffee, 10 seconds later I get a cold cop of coffee on the table and server is gone, 10 seconds later my COLD coffee was done, and wait, and wait and wait and wait and wait, nothings, got up and went to front to pay, where is your ticket? I don't have one, where were you setting? Right there, just coffee? Yes, just cold cop of coffee, $3.50, $3.50 for cold cop of coffee? No answer, here is $4 and keep the change.
If am am starving and broken prison cafe is the only cafe left in the world, I will not go there and eat.
I am firing all of you at broken prison.
"The customer can fire everybody in the company from the chairman on down, simply by spending his money somewhere else"...
Read moreAmazing find! Looking for a good breakfast place in Mission Valley and one of my buddies recommended this. It is definitely not obvious to spot on the main roads but it is at the corner of the Westfield plaza on Camino del Este and Camino Del Rio N. Parking is relatively easy since it shares the large outdoor parking lot with the mall; however you may need to walk for a bit if you come during busy hours.
We ordered the Mom omelette and the Sope Benedict. Did not disappoint. The omelette is very well balanced with Spinach, mushroom, onion, red and green bell pepper. Topped with avocado, salsa fresca, and sour cream presented in a zigzag manner, it not only taste but looks delicious. Wheat toasts were slightly covered with butter so you only need to add jam to your liking. The poached eggs were flavorful, and the fruits were fresh.
Service is great considering how busy they can get. The server Omar came promptly and brought us our drinks as well as food in less than a total of 10 minutes. Very courteous and attentive, Omar’s service was definitely were superb.
Overall amazing breakfast/brunch restaurant. Definitely would come back and try their other dishes. Keep up the good work Broken...
