I had a terrible experience at the Starbucks and I go there 6 days a week normally through the drive-thru I get the same exact thing and so does my boyfriend. Today I went inside because I wanted to have a seat and relax. I went to the register and ordered my drink and food and I got them I then picked out an item that I intended to buy and went to sit down to relax. I put set item on the table next to me out in the open. I was approached by Rachel the store manager who accused me of trying to steal it and told me she had to keep it at the register if I wanted to buy it. She said this in front of about 5 people. It is completely and disgusting and inappropriate behavior especially from a store manager I have managed many retail stores and was the city manager for national car rental. I have managed Hot topic and the Disney store as well, I never in a million years would have gone up to a customer and accused of stealing especially if they have the object out in the open and they have not left the store. the Disney store our policy was to never stop shoplifters we could offer to ring them up as they walked out of the store or right before if we knew there were the object was and if it was concealed only.
Mini companies get sued for accusing people of trying to steal especially if it's false accusation. I feel I was profile because I'm heavily tattooed that being said I am a good-looking female with long red hair I'm thin and I'm a very nice person. I have had the unfortunate events of having to deal with this woman three times in which she lied to me. She keeps telling me store policies that don't exist. I would Google them and show her that she was wrong in which she would reply that Google was wrong and that she was right because she knows the store policies.
When I asked her who her manager was she told me "she is the manager." I couldn't help but be sarcastic so I replied " are you the CEO of starbucks? Where are you the owner of this franchise if it is a franchise?" She then replied " oh so you want the corporate number?" I told her yes and she gave it to me with her name but I never called because honestly she slipped my mind because she's insignificant to me. But being accused of stealing is the most offensive thing to me because I'm not a thief. I intended to pay for the item because it was a Christmas gift to somebody. But I had her put it back. I will never go to that location again they recognized me and they know what to make me as soon as they hear my voice on the intercom. That being said she represents Starbucks in a horrible way. If she were my employee I would demote her or let her go if I even saw her or heard of her accusing an innocent person stealing after they just purchased food and a drink. Just because somebody lay something down on the table out me open does not mean that they're not going to pay for it. If I were going to steal it I would not sit there with it out in the open I would go back grab it and leave. I had the opportunity I could have walked out when she wasn't looking but I didn't because I'm on thief. This item didn't even cost $10 insinuated that I was going to steal it as if I couldn't afford to pay for it. As she looked me up and down like she was judging me. Honestly think it's the tattoos because I have a sleeve. But it's roses and flowers it's not like prison tattoos. Her behavior was appalling and disgusting and if she treats me that way she does it to others. I wonder if she racially profiles people as well? Most likely. I will be calling for tomorrow and making a complaint and I'm considering filing a lawsuit for discrimination. Profiling people is illegal and I saw other people with items they have not paid for, but they were not heavily tattooed like I am. I was dressed down today but not in a disgusting manner I was dressed well I had a long t-shirt on because I had just gotten done working out and yoga pants. With Skechers on my hair was brushed and I had makeup on. I did not look homeless or like a scumbag everyone should be treated...
Read moreThis used to be my favorite Starbucks. But ever since the previous manager changed stores, this store has gone downhill. There are some very great baristas here and they deserve kudos. But there are also some not so great baristas here too.
Lately, many of my orders have not been correct. Either they forget a topping, are out of syrup or foam, out of a desert, not enough hot water, not enough ice, the drink is warm, the use the wrong lid, they ring it up wrong, or something else. Not all these things are the fault of the baristas. I understand this.
It is frustrating because I know this store has the potential to be ABOVE excellent.
Also, never try to argue with a customer. You always lose. I've been on both sides of the counter. It's never a good idea to argue with a customer or make excuses for poor service. If it was just one mistake, it would not be a big deal. But small mistakes every other day, they add up--especially in your morning coffee. It's just not acceptable.
I can’t get out of Starbucks for under $15 anymore. For prices this high, the drinks and service need to be excellent or you’ll lose people to home made coffee that will save us thousands a year. I’m serious.
I don't know how much longer I will come here. The new manager needs to right this ship. He will lose me as a customer here. The buck stops with him. If baristas are struggling, they need to be coached. They'll never learn the right way if someone else just resolves the problem and says nothing.
This is a very high volume store. If someone is on register who isn't super sharp, then get them help until they get it down. Alternatively, don’t put them on register. Put them on the bar. People should be placed where they do best.Train baristas on stations they need work on when it's slow. Not during a rush. This is all common sense to me.
Also, maybe turn the music down a little so the baristas can hear and listen closely to what the customer is saying. When the barista is busy trying to figure out how to ring up my previous item, they are no longer listening to me give the next item in the order. This is how mistakes happen or something is misheard. Then the order is rung up incorrectly. I should not have to watch the register to make sure it’s correct. That's not my job. If I feel I have to do that there's a problem. Nobody likes a smart ass. But I know how much my order is going to be. If it’s not right, it tells me that prices went up or something was ring wrong.
I RARELY had these issues when this store was at its peak of excellence. If I did, it was fixed quickly without incident. Isn’t that why you have the “free”...
Read moreI usually drink lattes or iced coffee and the ones they make here are pretty good. I've had the occasional wrong drink made for me while going through the drive-thru, but it's not too big a deal breaker for me, I'll still drink it if it tastes good. Their breads, cookies, and sandwiches are all pretty good. They sell healthy snacks and other things inside as far as coffee, cups, gift cards, ect. The location of this place is super convenient, it's right off the 8W as you're going into Mission Valley, close to all major business areas and hotels, PLUS they have a drive-thru which is super nice. Lots of parking, seating outside and inside. You can also mobile order here and pick up inside if you would rather just park and go in, just pick up your stuff at the counter and go! I usually go thru the drive-thru which is sometimes slow, but most of the time it's constantly moving. I've received my drinks for free before when I got stuck waiting a couple of times over 15 mins, that was nice. When I've been inside it has been a little messy, maybe I just went in right after a busy time, it just seemed like there were chairs pulled out, wrappers on the floor or counters, just not picked up, but it was clean. The people are always nice, they always seem to have an influx of different employees, but I do see the occasional familiar face. The highway patrol love coming to this location lol, sometimes they take up half the parking in the early morning, but...
