Pick Up Stix Fresh Asian Flavors — Restaurant in San Diego

I have been craving Asian cuisine since before Christmas, specifically Chinese food. I finally had a moment to myself and came to Pick Up Stix for lunch yesterday.

Carla waited on me and recognized I was trying to figure out the menu and after I ordered something vegetarian, she said that I could order anything on the menu and get tofu instead of meat. She was very good, and very friendly!

I was having a rather tough day and almost didn't stop in, had my dog with me and when she suggested I sign up for the rewards program I declined, but I will sign up now that I have free time today! But she made sure I knew it was available to me if I wasn't already a member.

I was happy that there was plenty of parking closer to the side or rear entrance than the main one and parked very close to the door.

It was very clean inside and including the tables and floors. Food came pretty fast and after I got it home to eat it I was so happy that my craving had been satisfied! I also wanted to make note that they have gluten-free options on the menu which is great!

I am happy that there seem to be more vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options now than 10 years ago.

I definitely recommend this Pick Up Stix location and if you ever order with Carla, tell her she's doing...

We were going to eat at at Taco Bell but I hadn't been to Pick Up Stix in a long time and we the pictures of a new dish on the window made up my mind.

I ordered the original house chicken and my husband the New Fire Sweet Chicken that looked amazing in the picture. After waiting 20 minutes for our food to eat in.. I was Not impressed with either.

The House Chicken was so sweet that i couldn't eat more than a quarter of my meal, I decided to try my husband's dish Fire Sweet Chicken! While i love Onions, peppers, Pineapple and chili peppers it seemed that i was dumping the entire container on the plate to find the 4 tiny pieces of chicken that was in the container.

I was waiting for a heat kick and was very disappointed that the only heat i got was from the Siracha that i poured on my rice!

That being said... I won't be going to eat at pick up stix anytime soon and i learned my lesson about letting my eyes do the talking when it comes to choosing what i eat. Pretty Pictures Don't Fill up...

Had a wonderful experience at this Pick Up Stix location! Our family of 5, w/ kids, came in hungry after a long day of traveling & were kindly greated. Our food was brought to our table by Carla & she was such a joy! She happily served us & surprised us with extra rice (didn't order), a second packet of dessert fortune cookies (because 4 comes with the meal & she didn't want one of us to be left out) & a lil display of extra sauces :) Didn't expect it & Carla made it a very enjoyable night for us. Thank you!
