Was trying to find a decent cheap burger for some workers at my house. I thought I might be able to find a taco shop close by that also offered burgers. Based only on the double cheeseburger, this place is perfect. They do a very nice double cheeseburger (with everything) for under $4. I heard it's as good (or better) than In-N-Out, it's WAY closer to here, there's almost no wait (plus, you can call in your order ahead), and you just can't beat that! 😎 I heard that the fries were not so good, but I don't think they ate them while they were still fresh, so I can't personally speak to that. We've been back again a few times now for the burgers, and have also recently been using the "carnitas TJ/street tacos" as our standard barometer to evaluate various local taco shops, and these were well above average among those we've tried. Their offering is $2.25 each with many different options, which is nice if you're by yourself, as some places only sell four mini tacos (of all one kind only) for $9-10.00, which is "standard", but a LOT of food for one person (my wife and I usually split an order of four, and that's usually perfect). The size of the tortillas was as expected and were nice and fresh. The portion of meat was generous, and the carnitas were tasty and moist. There was enough onion and almost enough cilantro (salsa fresca), lime wedges, [edit: they might have just forgotten the guacamole last time when I mentioned that they didn't use it] guacamole "sauce", and a bunch of radish slices for a garnish. Fortunately, it's very close to the house, so we usually take it home. Based on this, our one item yardstick, we will definitely be back to try more of the menu, as well as for the burgers (we still need to try the other two burgers they offer). The place is old and funky (right across the side street from another taco shop!), and the drive-through is set up "backwards" (and the mic doesn't work so you have to drive to the window to order and pay), but it looks like an old family operation that has been there forever (it looks like they cater as well as there's a food truck parked in the lot), and the guy that I've seen every time I've been there is just as nice and as friendly as he could possibly be. :-D Definitely...
Read moreI get Carne Asada Fries at every mexican place I go to as my benchmark. This place was ok. The bad: the fries were not fresh made. They were a little stale and wrinkly, and in Carne Asada Fries you need good Fries. The rest was fine. The meat was good. And the best part, it's loaded with sour cream and guacamole, which I love. The salsa is a pretty basic pico, but it did have a little spice to it. I'd prefer a salsa roja, though. The Fries were a good price though at $12.99.

Read moreI love their Carne Asada mini tacos. They are so good and I can get them how I like. They never get my order wrong. It's quick service and they are friendly too. I like to stop there sometimes coming home from a bus ride when I don't feel like cooking dinner. You just have to go here. I'm sorry but it's much better than the other Mexican restaurant next to it! Go see for yourself. And try the mini tacos. They fill them with lots of meat unlike some places that go wimpy...
