My husband and I went out for a sunset sail this past weekend with Captain Brian, on the Tigress. It was a very peaceful, relaxing tour, with only six passengers. Brian had bought fresh fruit that morning, which was very good. However, I had been told by Rod that there would be beer, wine, and champagne on the boat. According to Brian, there was only champagne and beer, Bud Light and Light Coors, at that. You call that beer?? Anyhow, I would've picked up a bottle of wine had I known there would be none.

Sailing out the harbor, I was waiting for Brian to start telling us some things about San Diego, as I had heard that Ron, I guess especially likes to educate people. We soon discovered that Brian is very quiet, and will answer questions if asked. He did tell us quite a bit about the Atessa IV, the huge yacht in the middle of the harbor. Seeing the sea lions and sea gulls, cormorants, and other birds was the highlight. Although the sunset turned out to not be great, we did enjoy Brian allowing us a lot of of time seeing the evening lights going on in the city, as well as some lights on the aircraft carriers and bridges.

All in all, pleasant, peaceful, not highly educational...my one real disappointment. And we would recommend offering better beer...some local...

We sailed with Captain Matt, who was absolutely outstanding—personable, knowledgeable about the area, and so respectful. One of the highlights was cruising past the bait dock, where we got to see some adorable sea lions, adding an extra dose of cuteness to our adventure. The catamaran itself was comfortable, and the complimentary refreshments (wine, soda, water) were a welcome and much-appreciated surprise. Watching the sun dip below the horizon while enjoying great company and awesome service was truly wonderful. Fun Cat Sailing adventures is certainly your best choice for a cruise on San Diego Bay. As soon as we booked our cruise I knew we were in good hands with Captain Ryan. The comunication was clear and detailed we met up at the dock and headed down to the boat, a sleek and beautiful craft. Nothing compares to zipping across the bay under sail calm and realxed with just the sound of the waves against the hull. The Catamaran is the perfect way to experience San Diego with a glass of wine in your hand and the wind at your back safe in the experienced hands of Captain Ryan. He knew the bay like the back of his hand and knew exactly where the best wind and weather would be in the microclimates of the bay. Not only was he a skilled sailor he was also an exclent photographer and could adjust the rudder to line us up with perfect golden hour lighting as he took numerous pics for us. He even answered all my numerous questions and taught me the basics of sailing. I could not have asked for a better evening. Perfect for a special occasion or...
