My dentist told me I had a hole in the gums behind my back molar and that I would need to have the tooth extracted, an implant placed, and a crown/abutment (not with Dr. Olin). Wasn't really happy about it because I knew it would cost an arm and leg and who wants to go through all that? I went to Dr. Olin's office for a consultation and he agreed that I need to have the procedures I listed and that he would do the extraction and implant. After my consultation, I thought I was charged a lot for the X-rays and appointment and I actually left a low review on here. Turns out I was not charged those fees (consultation/X-rays were free) and I rescinded my original review.
That was in August 2022 and now having completed the extraction and implant procedures with Dr. Olin, I can say it was a really great experience overall.
Here is some of what contributed to that: The office staff helped me understand how much it was going to cost and how much I should put into my FSA account (which worked out perfectly) They worked with my insurance (Aetna PPO) getting accurate predeterminations of benefits documents, following up with them when there was an error on Aetna's end, and scheduled the treatment so that I optimized my benefits for the plan year I always felt like I knew the treatment plan, why each step was being performed, what things were covered vs. not covered etc. The extraction and implant surgeries themselves went well and there wasn't much pain during or after (recommend exparel shot) During surgeries Dr. Olin and the staff were relaxed, timely, and kept me informed because I wasn't sedated There was no charge for any appointments/X-rays pre or post extraction/implant surgeries which was nice because I was already spending $1000+ dollars after insurance on the extraction/implant Procedures were successful and I think they did...
Read moreDr. Olin AND his entire staff were an absolute delight to work with and highly competent from beginning to end. My case was a bit complicated (removal of a tiny root tip left behind from a previous extraction two years ago, PLUS the placement of two implants). I had been dreading this procedure and putting it off, but Dr. Olin made me feel extremely at ease about the whole thing, especially after another doctor said he didn't think he could successfully handle it. He has an especially calming demeanor, and a refreshing sense of humility despite his stellar education, knowledge and experience. The entire procedure was done to perfection, and I experienced zero pain! Oh! I also received a call from their accountant a few weeks after the procedure letting me know that my insurance company had paid more than expected, so I would be receiving a reimbursement check from Dr. Olin in the amount of $1,200! It was totally unexpected, and demonstrates his level of honor and ethics in his practice. Very highly recommend Dr. Olin, and his...
Read moreI have been a long time patient of Dr. Olin over the last 2.5 years. He and I have put together a plan of orthagnathic surgery to treat my TMD and I'm in the middle of my orthodontic treatment. I recently called the office and was inquiring about any insurance changes that may have been made in the last year. I was told that Dr. Olin does not take my insurance anymore and that I am no longer a patient of his due to this by a very brash office manager who would not let me finish my sentences until I just kept talking over her. I tried getting any other insurances that he takes and found out I am not able to get covered under any of the plans. I am now stuck with finding a new doctor and formulating a new plan of surgery. The last surgery he performed was a arthroscopy and he was unable to get into the joint to flush/look in/breakup any adhesions but was still charged for the service. Thank you for wasting my time and money. Oh and they still expect me to pay $1100 for that surgery that wasnt...
