Myself and my son both registered and commenced the Phlebotomy class. My WC paid for my class and I paid for my sons class out of pocket. We were sincere about our felony convictions and were told by Jon Cleary at the San diego site that we could work in this field in San Diego with just a Certification because my son most ikely wouldnt be able to get Liscensed. So my son enrolled under the impression that their professional Jon Cleary told him he would be able to get a job at any clinic here in San Diego with just his Certification. We were into the 3rd week of school and the teacher Ms. Maritza tells my son and me that we will not be able to do our required externship at the base because of our felonys and also that there is no other place for us or anyone else to do our required externship. Let me break it down - it's a 4 week class, then on 3rd week we sign up for our National Certification Exam, then we have 90 days to complete our 40hrs of Externship, then we take our passed National Exam and our Externship completion and send to State to do a State Exam and receive our Liscense. Ok moving forward, on the 3rd week Miss Marizta has the class register with the National Health Alliance to take our exam the following friday. On the National Registry it states that WE AGREE to sign in and register and upon completion of our exam, we have 90 days to do our externship or our Certification Exam is voided. When I questioned Ms. Maritza about this, she said - oh just say yes, we'll fix it later. Then she left the room and went to speak with Jon Cleary. Heres the problem : NOBODY can work in the State of Californis with just a Certification. You must have a Liscense. Lie #1. US Colleges DOES NOT and CANNOT provide Externships within the 90 day period. Lie # 2 US Colleges takes your money deceptively and cannot provide their students with integrity or accountability regarding their inability to provide the students with the services they pay for to complete their schooling, Certification and Liscensing. Were still waiting on the refund of the 500.00 i put down on the day of commencing and the 80.00 registration fee. Jon Cleary- his answer when confronted about lieing to us about working in the state of California with a Certification- Well you can always pack your bags and move to Las Vegas. (LasVegas also requires a liscense- go figure his common sense) Mr. Curtis Speller- when asked how come him or his employees (Jon Cleary) did not know or were not informed on the requirements and restrictions for the students registering for the classes US Colleges provide , He went on to name off all the requirements & restrictions for a Barber to get their Liscensing, I then asked "how long he'd been the Regional Director for US Colleges," He stated 7 years, my comment to him was- How is it your informed about a Barbers requirements for Liscensing, but your not educated or informed on the requirements for your students liscensinging which you've been servicing for 7 years. He said thats not his problem, thats the students. Ms. Maritza- She is sneaky and gives the students information on things that she feels or are doing wrong at the school , phone numbers to report etc (in secret of course) , then goes and complains about the student to the Director as if shes done nothing. Makes you feel shes helping you but at the end of the day - shes just like the rest of them.
This is your heads up. Save your money. This place will justify the covid situation to their benefit, but they signed us up during covid so they dont have all their ducks in a row and should have been transparent and not make us feel like we did something wrong about questioning their ethics and transparency. Maybe I should have been an attorney. Ive reported them to the Board of Vocational Education on their deceptiveness to students of false pretenses th for eir recruiting tactics and not able to provide a completion of service for Vocational Training / Certification etc.. Still waiting on my Refund . ...

What a disappointment this program turned out to be. My original opinion and review was only positive regarding this program. Almost everything I thought positive about US colleges has been proven otherwise.
First, I have to say the instructors that I had were amazing. Daniel, Danny, Tony and Jerome were all caring, qualified and thorough instructors.
However, this brings me to my first grievance with this program. In my 8 week coarse I had 5 instructors. One, that I did not mention above, was an absolute train wreck and she should never teach anybody. The administration would say this was due to our original Instructor leaving at week 3. While this is understandable, it led to constant confusion with our learning plan. Lessons were covered twice or skipped causing disruption in the classes learning process.
The syllabus and course schedule failed to include holidays which again forced us to catch up, skip book work or owe make up hours.
There was also continued technical difficulties when it came to test taking. EVERY week when we were scheduled to take our weekly exam, the test was either not open or set to the wrong time zone. This caused students to not be able to take the test as scheduled or have to rush to finish it on time. For those of us with family, jobs or other obligations this was a major annoyance. We had to set aside time to study and prepare. Putting other life concerns on hold.
Much of the equipment in the room was either broken or missing. We were not exposed to a lot of the elements that we will face out in the field.
Possibly the most aggravating issue was the communication with the administrative and management team. Because of there being so many instructors, our required externships were failed to be scheduled. These ride alongs should take place in earlier portions of our program. Ours were not scheduled till the 7th week of class. When they were scheduled, they were scheduled wrong or weeks away. I eventually had to take matters into my to my own hands and schedule my own ride along, something I was told I wasnât allowed to do yet was able to accomplish in one afternoon.
We also did not start preparing the most important part of our schooling until the very end. Learning how to perform medical and trauma assessments is one of the most difficult and important part of the entire program But we didnât start learning anything about that until week Five or six. How any of us actually passed our final test I could not tell you.
Once the program hours had been met and the ride alongs completed the next issue came up. Students class hours were not being logged correctly. Some hours were even lost, forcing students to redo classes they had already done. School administration blamed this on an internal matter. Many students still do not have their hours inputted correctly which is stopping them from taking their national CERT and getting a job. Class ended Jan 27th!
I was able to become nationally certified, and I have a job as an EMT only because I was a constant advocate for myself. I also had to purchase about $300 worth of supplemental study material in order to be prepared in the areas the School failed to prepare me.
When all of these issues were brought up to higher level management, we were met with an âSOL attitudeâ. There was a small level of recognition that what happened to our class was not right. However, there was no attempt to remedy the situation. I formally requested a small percentage refund as a solution. This was denied. The School made it clear they have no intention of offering any sort of reimbursement for our damages. Essentially âsorry we screwed you. Good luckâ.

Read moreI attended U.S Colleges in September of 2011 for Phlebotomy. At first I was overjoyed by all the promises the director made during my initial meeting with him. I was told I would receive an externship 2-3 weeks after completing the program. I ended my Phlebotomy program in September and I didn't have my externship until 11 weeks later in the end of November. I was assigned to the Naval Medical Center, which ended up being a pain since they are so strict and require a badge to get on base. I was not given directions as to where I needed to go to get my badge, nor was I given a number to call in case of any questions. So, the Monday I was suppose to start at 8am, I was sitting in the parking lot trying to get a hold of someone at the school and finally reached Veronica, the externship coordinator. She was very rude and upset because I was late. I ended up being transferred out to a clinic where I did learn quite a bit. If you have a choice ask to go to the Point Loma clinic. The trainer there is wonderful and very patient. As for the training I received through the school, I only have a few complaints. The teacher, Maritza seems to be a bit over worked. I was in the night class, so maybe that is why she always seemed tired and impatient. Most nights we did get to practice drawing once or twice, usually just once. It's a good thing they have the practice labs through out the week. I didn't know about those until two weeks after my class ended, because our teacher neglected to tell everyone in the class, only a select few knew about it. Over all I would say to save your $2500 and go to the ROP program or go elsewhere. In my case they were not prompt or professional. I do agree with the other review where someone said Jeremy, the director was the equivalent to a car salesman. If you think this is a good deal because you will be certified quickly and immediately be able to work, think again. They take on too many students at once, with not enough externship sites. CAUTION: MOST OF THESE REVIEWS SEEM VERY PHONY. DO YOUR RESEARCH. I WISH...
