San Diego Bike shop - A place that is assured to part you with your hard-earned money and leave you with regrets. đĽ
If you don't make it to the bottom of this review, here are the bullet points that highlight what you need to know:
âď¸This company will attempt to undermine my review in their comment. They will have some long explanation as to why I am wrong and why they are right.
Read below to find out what you need to know before doing business with this company.
If you can muster up the courage to visit this shop that rests in one of the most dangerous areas of downtown, where you will most certainly have to wade your way through a dangerous crowd to get to the door. â ď¸
When visiting San Diego Bike Shop you will be greeted by relatively nice people who unfortunately lack sufficient knowledge to make sure your bike is not damaged while in their possession.
If you're looking for slightly cheaper, then this may be the route to go. Remember the old adage, "you get what you pay for". Paying the few extra bucks at a reputable Bike Shop will save you the headache of a damaged bike, extended wait times, and potentially dangerous malfunctioning of your bike due to incompetence of the people who you trusted.
â ď¸Beware - now it's time you be forewarned of the fraudulent activities you may encounter at San Diego bike shop.
While purchasing items at San Diego bike shop, you may be given used items. The owner is aware of these activities and okay with these activities.
I put my trust in this company and purchased an item I presumed was new. Unfortunately, my $4,000 bike arrived in a box with a different brand name on it. Subsequently this resulted in the bike being severely damaged.
Through my personal experience I have learned that all of the negative reviews about this company should have been something I paid closer attention to.
To protect others I felt compelled to share my review of San Diego Bike...
Read moreI just moved to downtown San Diego and stopped in the shop on three separate occasions and never once was greeted or spoken to while inside looking at bikes. The third time I was in I was looking for a tire pump since I ended up buying a bike online, needless to say, still no one helped me. I did have questions about which pump was best as I haven't had a bike in many years and they have changed a lot since then. I found my answers by looking at Amazon reviews and had I not needed my tires pumped that day I would have bought it on amazon where it was $10 cheaper. Note that they were not busy both of the first two times I was in there, so there was someone available to approach me, and I would have purchased a bike from them if I felt that they cared.
Update: in response to the owners response: instead of degrade people who tried to buy from you but didn't because you apparently have so much business you cannot even greet people coming through your doors, you should offer an apology and invite them back in for a better experience. I worked in retail the past six years and know exactly how important customer service is, and how Amazon is killing small businesses. You must adapt and treat every customer through the door as if they were your last, and quit making excuses for poor service. I hate buying online because I like to support local businesses, and especially didn't want to put the bike together. However, as with any business you must earn the customers business, you are not entitled to their business. Unfortunate I see you are full of excuses for every bad review on here, which gets you no where. Maybe you should have a meeting with your staff and make sure they all understand how important every customer as it is YOUR business and, I expect, your livelihood. Unfortunately instead of owning your mistakes and weakness you bashed your clients and made sure they won't come back. I'll take buy all my accessories elsewhere now and let another business...
Read moreI've been going to this #bikeshop for a few years now, didn't care they were overpriced on repair items & at least their #electricbikes. Last night I called before coming in today & talked to one of their guys knows who I am, a #retired #Veteran & run GoHireAVet.com, anyway I get a price quote for a 26" mountain bike knobby tire for $20, a reseal tire tube for $10 & the install on my electric bike for $10 - which they just did the same thing minus the knobby tire just a month ago for $20+ tax.
Now today the knobby tire goes from the $20 I was quoted to $27 & the install is now $15 - note it takes less than 1/2 hr to replace the tire tube, so I guess the hourly labor rate must be $30hr.
So I was still going to have them do it all even though it was going to be another $15 approximately.
So then I asked if they could adjust the brake cables which I had just bought from them both front and back cables in the last month because one had snapped less than a month after I bought it from them.
Then they tell me I have to buy brand new cables first because the ends were frayed even though there was plenty of cable left to just adjust them, so now it's 2 more brand new cables @ $9 each & another $15 per cable for the labor!!
Then they wanted to charge me another $10 labor for putting an extra washer I already had back on the wheel so the disc brakes don't stick!
When it was all said & done they now quoted me $92 for a tire, a tube, 2 new brake cables I didn't need & a washer put back in place where it already was!
Total BS I'll never go there again, trying to nickel & dime everything and labor is nearly $60 even on an electric bike that's a...
