The Candy Pushers — Local services in San Diego

Shannon and Melissa have one of the best stores in the neighborhood. This is for several reasons.

First, they are integral parts of the Hillcrest and LGBT communities. You can always find both of them heavily active in all sorts of neighborhood volunteer efforts and hosting events where groups assemble donations for children and underserved communities. They have also never failed to donate to a worthy cause for the neighborhood.

Second, if you have a dog, they always have treats on hand. They also host fun events for the community like Karaoke Wednesdays.

Third, as a vegan (or for someone else lactose intolerant), they carry a decent selection of candies and chocolates that are available for our dietary restriction.

Fourth, they are a local business. They operate a storefront, live in the neighborhood, and add so much to our community.

Fifth, they have a HUGE selection of candies. There were some complaints on here about being told to not just grab something-but they are sticklers for hygiene. I really respect that. They have sanitizer at the front and you grab your bag, fill it, and pay a set price per weight.

Sixth, if you have a friend whose birthday or graduation is coming up, they have gift certificates (which I have bought).

Yes, I am good friends with them, but I do tend to be a regular customer because I always feel welcome, there are things that I can eat, and whenever I bring friends into the 92103, I always make a point at stopping in because, and especially if you love fudge, they make it and...

Excellent owners who are super cool, engaging and very friendly! It’s so nice to go into a store and have interactive owners who are excited to help you!

The store is very clean, well organized and nicely kept, but best of all is how it’s decorated and furnished! It’s very fun and colorful and the floor is even coated in glitter. Glitter and rainbows everywhere? My kid was in heaven!

There was so much to look at here, the candy seems endless and you can find anything your heart desires! All kinds of sour candies, gummies, specialty candies and more. My girl was so excited for the giant gummy bear, but her favorite of all is the double chocolate truffle and the fudge. So amazing! They are definitely must haves when you visit!

We had a great visit to The Candy Pushers and my kiddo is already asking to return. And to have her next birthday party there! Great shop, excellent people and super yummy products! 5 stars...
