Our experience at Wonderful Sushi was anything but wonderful. We arrived at 9:45pm (more than 2 hours before closing) and were told that dine-in was closed, but that we could still order takeout. Fair enough, we thought, and perused the menu to order some food to go. It was around this time that a large crowd of people had gathered around the restaurant, waiting to either pick up online/delivery orders or order takeout themselves. Only one person was taking orders, unfortunately, so we had to wait another 15 minutes just to order our food. It was then that we found out that the prices of the food on the menu we were given were not accurate, and our bill ended up costing $5-6 more than it should have. Slightly annoyed, we asked why the prices were higher than advertised, and were told by the manager that we were supposed to view the menu on our phones prior to arriving at the restaurant if we wanted to see the correct prices. Even more annoyed but hungry and impatient, we agreed to pay the higher price and wait for our food... and we waited... and waited for another 30 minutes. Outside the restaurant, chaos ensued. Irritated delivery drivers were waiting upwards of 10 minutes just to be spoken to, and everyone else waiting outside was hoping to dine in, only to be disappointed when they were told that they were only accepting takeout orders... 2 hours before closing. But how was the food you ask? It was okay, nothing to write home about. The salmon and California rolls were okay, as well as the chicken teriyaki bento box. The spicy tuna roll was mediocre at best. Overall, the food was not worth the wait. Save your time and money and choose somewhere...
Read morenot wonderful, not at all. 1. Service was so slow... it took so long to get our drinks that the food already came then the drinks, I mean come on, e we ordered and it took more than half an hour for the first of our order to arrive. Then 15 more minutes before the drinks came and only then because I ordered them again. Our party is 4 adult and 3 kids under 8 years of age, the youngest is 3. The food for the baby was very overdone nearly burnt (Katsu Chicken). The sushi was fine but small... like the circumference was very small, something like food court sushi not high quality, something like discount sushi... but not what I would consider "great" sushi. The NYNY roll was terrible and the cream cheese had a weird taste... one in my party almost hurled. The rest of the rolls were just plain. While the food was average the price is not. Priced like high end sushi. All of the special rolls were 14,15 or 16. We arrived at 9pm and finished eating around 10:15... they proceeded to forget about my party, tucked away in the back. After they took our dishes, and 15 minutes passed , I went to the waitress and asked for a check. 15 more minutes passed and I went to ask again for the check... lots of smiles but no friggin check! Finally the check comes and they have charged us and additional $25 tip because the kids count as adults in service fee. Totalling my check up to $176 . I have to tell you, I was so not happy. This was just an hour or so ago so it's fresh...
Read moreMediocre. Food was alright. The music was absolutely horrible. The waitress was meh. The smell was yuck. Just gross overall but the food keeps it from being a one star.
So the music. Every song was from the 90s up to 2008. It was atrocious. Not only that, the speaker system was disrespectful towards the music it was playing lol. Too much treble, not enough bass (please save them Miss Trainor), and it was tinny sounding. It was a struggle to converse at the table trying to talk over the cheap sound system and playlist.
We got there an hour before close and it was quite obvious the waitress was so over her shift. She was not friendly in the least bit. I don't need a conversation but at least change your tone of voice; perhaps the waitress and music audio system need maintenance lmao.
Sanitary fun times: I did not drink any water as I saw the waitress's fingers go inside the pitcher. The way she handled the cups for us to drink out of... her hand was like right on the rim. Not drinking up her dirty hands, no thanks!
As for the food, it was tasty enough but nothing special. The rice seemed a bit off. I've enjoyed super market sushi better than this, but again, it was good enough. Maybe had the place seemed more sanitary, not smelled like grossness, and played decent music with a decent sound system, the taste would've been much more vibrant and rich.
Would not go back....
