This place is an absolute gem and needs to be protected at all costs! As someone who knew nothing about hair, I've gone through countless stylists and salons over the years without ever being satisfied—until now.

For some context, my friend who used to do my hair helped me maintain a platinum silver look that I loved. But when she moved away, I had to embark on a daunting and perilous journey to find a new hair sensei. The journey has not been easy and has been filled with many tragedies, to say the least. My hair has been through a lot and was left in a pitiful state, leaving me feeling like a side character in my own story, and I almost gave up.

But then the heavens sent me a sign and pointed me in the direction of Tokyo Blaq. Here, I met the lovely and masterful Casey, who turned my entire story around. I started with a consultation with her to discuss the bleach and tone work I wanted done to my hair. Right from the start, she was knowledgeable and validating, listening to and addressing all of my concerns and desires. She walked me through the process and what I needed to be aware of.

I have never felt so reassured talking to someone about my hair. Other salons and stylists in the past didn't seem to listen to me, and I often felt brushed off, rushed, and ignored. Casey, however, took her time with everything, and not once did I feel rushed. Watching her work was an absolute pleasure. She takes deep pride in what she does, evident in her meticulous attention to detail and professionalism throughout the entire session.

When the session was over, my hair was incredible. She was able to achieve not only the color I wanted but also maintain the health and integrity of my hair, leaving it looking luscious and hydrated. Other salons in the past could only achieve one or the other—either getting my color right but leaving my hair dry and unhealthy, or keeping my hair healthy but delivering subpar color. Casey, however, achieved the perfect balance of both, creating a breathtaking color while keeping my hair luscious and healthy.

Not only was she wonderful during the session, but she was also an absolute delight to work with afterward. She was very available when I reached out to her with questions about maintenance and other hair-related concerns, and she took her time to answer me. Because of Casey, I finally feel like the main character in my life again, and not some lame NPC/side character.

I often joke with my friends that when I got my platinum silver hair initially, I was in my villain phase. But after meeting this hair maven, I honestly feel like this is the start of my main character development arc, where I slowly learn to be the protagonist again after being healed from all my past salon tragedies.

Other people have claimed to be experts and masters in this trade, but take it from someone who has been through at least a dozen stylists over the past few years: the true master resides here, and her name is Casey at Tokyo Blaq. Seriously, give this place a try, because just like Men's Wearhouse, you're gonna like the way you look.

So I would not describe myself as having a needle phobia but piercing my septum struck fear in my heart. Luckily, Peter came highly recommended and boy, did he deliver. He made me feel calm, talked me through the process, and the kicker... I FELT NO PAIN. I'm talking ZERO. I have hurt more getting blood drawn at the doctor's office. I couldn't believe it was over.
