Took a half day wine tour on Xmas eve. Pros: The route was super beautiful. I think our driver’s name was Marco - he was fun and knowledgeable, provided lots of information on the area which really leveled up our experience. Thank you so much for working during the holiday Marco! Also - the Madonna winery was a good time, the host was very engaging, the wines were tasty and bottles affordable so we took some home. Thanks to the Madonna team for working during the holiday, and to RuVango for hosting us at your beautiful Napa property. Cons: bathroom… the bus bathroom was marked “out of order” and there was no convenient or clean bathroom situation at the departure. They said they sent an email to warn customers before the tour, but I’m traveling a long distance via car and was not checking emails while driving. There are bathrooms at the winery locations, so that was our saving grace. I really think they should not use the bus without a working bathroom, or please secure a decent bathroom at the departure station. This tour isn’t cheap, so I believe we should have this basic necessity (especially for the seniors!). Also, it was supposed to be a 12:30 but they shifted us to 830am. Kind of early for wine but I understand the holiday schedule… I wish they would have advertised it initially with the correct time (not after I purchased tix).
I enjoyed my tour overall. I’d recommend it to others, but with a major disclaimer about...
Read moreWe took the City Tour on Thursday, December 19, 2019. We were picked-up at our hotel when they said they would be there. They took us to the Tower Tours office to get our boarding pass. We had 15 minutes before the bus left, which gave up time to walk to the 7-Eleven around the corner for drinks. We departed right a 2 pm and drove through Fisherman's Wharf. We next toured neighbors with $850,000 + Victorian homes. We saw the homes of Sen. Diane Feinstein and Danielle Steel. Next we went through The Presidio National Park, a former army post and the Golden Gate National Cemetery. We drove over the Golden Gate Bridge and stopped for 20 minutes at the North Vista Point for pictures of the bridge. We drove back across the bridge and our next stop was the Golden Gate Park for a 15 minute snake bar stop. We were lucky to have nice weather to make a stop at Twin Peaks with a 360° view of the entire bay area. When it's raining or foggy this stop is skipped. It's the best place in the city for pictures. We drove through the Haight-Ashbury neighborhood, city hall, china town and finely north beach (Little Italy). The bus driver knew all the in and outs of the history of San Francisco. We choose the 3 ½ hour Tower Tours because I read bad reviews of the hop off- hop on tours. By the time we got back, we had seen every visitor sightseeing spot in...
Read moreWorst “luxury” tour ever. Heat blasting on a hot day driver didn’t know how to fix it until we got to the first winery which was three hours into the tour. People were literally sweating while he was laughing and saying how cool he was. Driver did not and could not stop talking just nonsense random wrong facts, speaker was broken and with his endless talking exhausted us and gave us a headache, made fun of our home town, the traffic was horrible due to construction and they knew it prior as the driver told us about it as we began the tour and also knew when it was going to be finished the day after and did not make alternate arrangements to go to different wineries.. This delayed our tour by 2.5 hours which rushed the wineries and we never got a tour at any winery and we arrived back in Sam Fran 1.5 hours later than scheduled. . 7 hours to visit two Wineries which were not friendly, bathrooms dirty, and the wine was not good. The two wineries we’re about 30 minutes away from Each other and we could have seen closer ones. Most of this tour was spent in the bus, with heat blasting, a driver that would not stop talking, a broken crackling speaker that gave us a headache all for two dirty unfriendly winery visits Horrible tour....
