I took my Algerian friend here for their birthday. I've never had Algerian food. It was incredible. Not only was the service amazing and coordinating what to eat, but the food was probably the best I've had in a while.
It was flavorful but not overspiced. I like the traditional salads like eggplant and tomatoes and the olives. The couscous was so soft and had little bits of olive in it. We had the couscous with chicken and it was perfectly cooked! I wish I could've ordered a tray of it. My favorite was probably the lentil soup. The lentils still had a bite to them and the taste was subtle yet spiced perfectly. They served everything with a little bit of bread and harissa which allowed each of us to spice it how we saw fit. The food was not oily or overdone, it tasted like home cooked but was presented beautiful with a little flair.
To drink we had this refreshing lemonade. And my favorite was this tea with pine nuts! We had dessert too, which was traditional. By then we were so full we only had a few bites of dessert but took it to go to finish.
The owners were so accommodating and friendly. They helped me understand the cuisine better as well. I believe they cater and can't wait to have them cater at a party. The atmosphere is a lunch marketplace but there are private spots you can sit at. At first I didn't realize it wasn't a restaurant but the owners went above and beyond to make it feel special for a special occasion! I wish I lived closer because I would be eating...
Read moreI ordered from Kayma for 20+ person economic mobility work event in February 2023 via Uber Eats delivery. I was already a big fan of La Cocina (where Kayma is located) so I came across Kayma when I was looking for our next local vendor. We ended up using Uber Eats to allow for an advanced group order with individual requests and Mounir was very quick to confirm the order with me via WhatsApp, text, and phone and allay any concerns. Mounir was super communicative throughout the process and the food was impressively delivered early, given the complexity of all the individual orders, allowing us to prepare for our event. Of course, the food was delicious, warm, and with generous portions!! I believe my team ended up ordering from most of the menu items, so you really cannot go wrong. I (along with my team) would highly recommend that you order from Kayma and support Wafa and Mounir's...
Read moreThis place is nestled inside the new Saluhall SF (a food hall in/near Ikea). Our group was pleasantly surprised as we entered, as the decor was really nice.
I first spotted KAYMA and knew instantly that I wanted to try this restaurant as I’ve never had Algerian (North African) food before. The cashier was really nice and patient with me while I asked what she liked/recommended. I got the Dajaj Paradise Bowl and a small desert. The food was flavorful and comforting with what felt like a stew with plentiful of delicious veggies and couscous. I will say I didn’t know if this dining hall had a bussing station and was told by multiple patrons to just leave it—so sorry if...
