My Lil Town San Gabriel — Local services in San Gabriel

I went in today 1/1/25 and I was so excited to try this place out with my daughter. Unfortunately there were a lot of entitled people there. They were all Asian families and I believe these families were related or knew each other. They were speaking in their native language the whole time. I was the only person of color there and kept to myself and watched my daughter like a hawk. There was an Asian dad with his son that was giving him a hard time so he put him down for a nap in one of the play rooms. My daughter went into the same playroom where the man and his sleeping son was. I was being considerate and making sure my daughter didn’t make too much noise. My daughter is only 2 years of age so it is hard for her to understand to keep quiet. She sees a music instrument next to the man and sleeping boy she went to play the instrument. As I was trying to get my daughter so I can move her to a different room an Asian women comes from behind me and takes the toy out of my daughters hand and tells her no!!! This happened so fast I was completely appalled and quiet offended that this lady had the audacity to come and take a toy from a child’s hand all because she didn’t want the sleeping child to wake up. I immediately picked my daughter up and walked to the bathroom to wash her hands & get ready to leave. I couldn’t believe this Asian lady and her malfunction. After all we all paid for our kids to have fun run around and make noise this is supposed to be a place where kids can be kids. I don’t think her behavior was acceptable at all and last of all the man should’ve taken his child home our to his car so he can be in a quiet area. This place I paid for isn’t a place for nap time. I would advise anyone who comes here to think twice about it and take your money elsewhere especially if you are a person of color because you will be treated less than. “The lady in the front was so rude. Does not know how to work customer service. The place was great I would come back again I actually came to check it out to see if I liked it enough to throw my daughter a birthday party here. I was going to recommend all my mom friends to this place. The place was great and nice for kids but the lady in the front who ruined it. Her customer service was awful even with other customers coming in. Therefore, I will not be returning here. She needs to be trained on how to greet and assist customers. Seems like she doesn’t like her job. Training her on customer service, manners, and how to be polite would help bring people to this place. I don’t know her name but she was pregnant. She was on her phone the whole time she was “suppose to be cleaning”.

This place def has potential and we adored the cute little town themed! It is so easy for kids to spend a good couple of hours there with no doubt.

However, the biggest problem would be the customers, we could not help but notice that some parents were being so rude blocking in the middle of everywhere….FYI, there were lots of people and kiddos playing and passing by them but they did not even care to move. They mainly focused on their phones instead of their kids, and chatted with each other loudly. I can’t believe even we had eye contact with them, they just acted so indifferent like they thought it was right to do so smh they basically showed no signs to move from the beginning to the end

It’d be also nice for them to focus on the maintenance on toys and overall cleanliness. Some toys are broken and the play area smelled really bad
