This is so NOT a safe place for me!
I went the first time before Christmas and then again this past Wednesday. For the first visit, I had to wait in line outside. I normally hate doing so (especially in the winter--brrr), but I needed some things for Christmas dinner, so I had no choice. I will say, the line wasn't too long nor was the wait. Anyhow, I went inside, not certain what I'd find, and what I found was trouble! My gosh! The store is HUGE--AND there's an upstairs! It's a bloody paradise! No kidding. I felt as if I were on a treasure hunt and every aisle held at least one thing for me to drool over! "But did you find what you were looking for?" you ask. Oh, absolutely! And then some! And I made the mistake of taking a bloody shopping cart with me. Grabbing one seemed to send a subliminal message to my brain that, "Hey! There's an empty cart right at hand. Why not use it? After all, you look silly pushing an empty cart around, right? And why not fill it up since putting just one item inside looks wrong? And I'm SURE that one item's lonely!" Geesh! Thank God I got some bigger pieces which helped to fill the cart up quicker or I might STILL be in there!
On my second trip, I went specifically looking for one item. And I purposefully did NOT get a cart! And though I allowed myself to wander (marginally), I made it out with just the thing I came for (well, plus a small bauble I spied while in line).
I've yet to make it upstairs, but I don't mind admitting I'm a little afraid to. I can barely manage to tear myself away from all the ground-floor finds, who knows what may catch my fancy upstairs!?!
Anyhow, if you're looking for décor for your home, I have a sneaking suspicion that you'll find something that speaks to you here--from LOVELY glassware (vases, wine glasses, and other such objets d'art) to cooking aids to novelty foods to furniture to artwork...and the list goes on.
Oh, and the line inside hasn't been all that long the two times I went, and that first time was nearing Christmas. The line moved quickly, so don't let the thought of long lines deter you. Just don't forget to...
Read moreI usually do not write reviews or even bad ones to start off with but I am still hurt by the fact. Yesterday my boyfriend and I went over to this tjmax on Almaden because I needed work jeans. We went in normally but coming in I guess we looked âsuspiciousâ to them. My boyfriend did his own thing I did mine. Although while I went to try some clothes on the First Lady was super nice but as I was trying in clothes this other worker kept passing by with a sweeper, âsweepingâ the floor you could clearly tell the floor was not dirty and it was making me super uncomfortable. I was done and the next worker I approached looked at me up and down and looking at the clothes I had in my hand. I found that super strange and rude. After I found my boyfriend he pointed out that a man kept following him and looking at him look at stuff. We talk about it and go into the beauty isle and he tells me how uncomfortable heâs feeling because all the workers keep starting at him and I felt the same way. Then a manager comes up to us and just casually how asks us if we need help finding anything we politely tell her no and she leaves back downstairs. We were the only one that she asks that having so many people around us. Quickly after she leaves another worker comes and starts âfixingâ stuff on the shelves. Although there was literally nothing to fix. We look up and the man that kept starring at him was now standing there âstarring at the wallâ near US ! I felt super uncomfortable and only because I needed jeans I purchased them. The cashiers as well while we were paying kept looking at us up and down. ? I donât know maybe find a better way to look for people âstealingâ because we felt super uncomfortable and almost harassed by how much workers were near us . Will not be coming here again. May I just add this isnât my first time in the store I donât understand the watchfulness this time. People who actually are there to steal arenât even watched for. Next time pick a better couple to...
Read moreTons of stock that rotates frequently. Good to great deals on many items. I have shopped here many times. Somehow there is always a line for check out no matter what time you come.
Would like them to donate instead of trashing unsold stock or hazardous unsold stock. Food that has passed Best By date (which is not the same as Expired) should and can be donated to food pantries / pet items to pet shelters. Paying employees to spray paint or destroy stock before putting in the trash (which I know is a pretty common industry practice - luxury brands like Hermes burn items) is basically heinous and evil. It doesnât matter if youâre still making a profit and can afford to trash perfectly good items. Itâs still wrong. The same reason it makes it so easy to shop also encourages over consumption as well as illegal or excessive dumping. It doesnât have to be that way.
In Japan stores do mystery bags / boxes - like Michealâs crafts 1âx 3â boxes. Customers love it, social media loves it, employees love it (more than destroying & dumping) and the Earth loves it. Oh and not illegally dumping so thereâs that to love. That could seriously be a major event on a quarterly or bi-monthly basis. I mean, come on how many people would end up lining up to buy a $10 - $30 2â x 2â box of mystery / semi-mystery items? A lot. They have a box of mystery Skin Care or Snacks or Gift Wrap etc for $20 - I might try that.
In 2022, TJX, the parent company of T.J. Maxx, Marshalls, and HomeGoods, was ordered to pay $2.05 million for improperly disposing of hazardous waste into trash bins that were sent to municipal landfills. The waste included batteries, aerosol cans, electronic devices, and cleaning agents. This was the second time TJX was ordered to pay for improper waste disposal, following a similar...
