As a long-time customer of House of Pho, since 2018, I’ve always enjoyed their Vietnamese cuisine, especially when dining in. However, my recent experiences with delivery orders have left me deeply disappointed. Take, for example, the beef noodle soup I ordered via DoorDash today, June 28, 2025, it was a letdown in every way. There was so much fat and cartilage that I had to spend time separating it myself. If you check the attached photo, you’ll see exactly what I mean.
Here’s why this matters so much to me, I’m handicapped and rely heavily on delivery services like DoorDash, Uber eats for my meals. When I order, I expect the same care and quality I’d get if I were sitting in the restaurant. Sadly, this isn’t the first time I’ve noticed a drop in quality with House of Pho’s delivery orders it’s starting to feel like a pattern. I can’t help but think of other Vietnamese spots in San Jose, like Thien Long or if you can drive a short distance away Yokohama Ikei (Japanese Cuisine) where my delivery orders consistently arrive just as good as if I’d eaten there in person. Why can’t House of Pho figure this out?
I really want to keep supporting this place, I’ve been a loyal customer for years but I’m frustrated. I’m urging House of Pho to step up their quality control for delivery orders. Everyone deserves the same great experience, whether they’re dining in or getting it dropped off at their door. For someone like me, who depends on these services, it’s not just a preference it’s a necessity. Please, House of Pho, get this right or you forever have lost a customer that spends $1000+ eating out...
Read moreHouse of Pho at this location is one of the best in South Bay, given it's not even in the Story Rd or Tully area where Pho competition is fierce.
I order a bowl of Pho, combination and size large. In a couple of minutes I see the waiter bring out the order and I'm thinking probably he going over to the next table. Then he walks straight to my table - this is the fastest serving I ever got for a bowl of pho.
For under $12, this size large bowl is big - plenty of noodles, meat, and soup. The soup flavor is great. Note that when I say plenty or good, it's relative to other pho places - otherwise, it's too subjective from person to person. A little secret, many pho fans are not aware of the satay sauce, which you can use for dipping the pieces of meat or beef balls. Some pho places don't even offer it. Often you have to ask for it. Here, the satay sauce is very spicy and tastes great (gotta ask for it.)
This place is in a shopping center. So there's always plenty of...
