This Lazy Dog location opened July 5, 2023. Have eaten here a few times since. We got fished to make a reservation on May 24, 2024 by a Lazy Dog email campaign about a new mountain berry pancake product, but when we got there discovered it’s only available during extremely limited hours.
I think the employees must be either too busy or too stressed out because, we experienced long delays between key points during our ordering, meal, and payment. Also, our servers seemed sort of unhappy we were there, they never smiled at us, but we observed them smiling and laughing with certain other guests. The food was just OK, too salty, too expensive. One appetizer was served on a small cast-iron skillet, but the skillet was room temperature and sucked the warmth out of the food very quickly. Would’ve been better served with a heated skillet or on a ceramic dish.
There was a confusing upsell delivered with the check for a $60 per year membership plan, but we’re prolly not coming back until the winter when we can at least enjoy the fireplaces.
We hold a higher opinion of the Cupertino Lazy Dog location, but we also recall that some of the service there was also not that friendly.
Update 2024-06-08: we decided to try the new Mountain Berry Pancakes by using Google Order. The ETA for the online order was 11:50 AM. At about 11:55 AM we pulled into one of the clearly marked online order parking spots, and replied to the order confirmation text with the single word “here” (as instructed) letting them know we were ready to receive the order. About 12:15 PM we decided we should contact the restaurant to find out if there was a problem. I called the phone number, navigated through the phone tree to reach a nice person who put us on hold briefly to check on our order. They informed us the order was not quite ready, and then very soon let us know the kitchen was putting it in a bag and they would bring it right out, which they did. It was close to 30 minutes after the promised time.
We moved our car to a shaded spot near in the lot and got out our pre-warmed (now cold) plates and stainless silverware we had brought along. The eight pancakes in the order were small, thin, and rubbery. There was no butter provided. The berry sauce was way too sugary sweet for our taste.
The items we tried in our few visits so far were not that appealing. The service has been lukewarm. We very much appreciate the architecture and interior design, but I think we’re done...
Read moreIt is very unfortunate to be writing such a poor review for one of our go to places as not only are we first responders but also beer club members at this location. I recently went in to celebrate a birthday and we took our golden retriever (keep in mind, lazy dog is known to be dog friendly and even offers dog menus for your fur babies) We got sat in the patio area and before our waitress got a chance to even introduce herself, we had Bobby (the manager) come up to us asking if we were going to be able to “control” our dog as the table next to us made a complaint over him barking. (Our dog is well trained, never have we had a complaint against him, he was on a harness sitting between my boyfriend and I) yes he barked a few times out of excitement from barely arriving but was settling down. We explained to the manager bobby everything was under control when he then says “I hope you guys haven’t ordered yet because I might have to ask you to leave” I was baffled. Overall there was NO professionalism in this situation at all. He did not handle this as a manger lead should have. Clearly he does not work well under pressure when guests are complaining. At some point he even said, “this is the worst dog behavior I ever dealt with ” I stare at him super confused because We’re talking about a golden retriever His 1st solution was asking us to leave when he could have easily offered to move us tables or he could have offered the other guests to move to an inside table as their dog was half asleep and half dead in a stroller anyways He never apologizes during the conflict He didn’t offer to give us a chance to at least order our food as take out Moral of the story is our dog was not out of control, the manager could have resolved this in many other ways and in a more professional manner. We didn’t argue with him, we didn’t raise our voice, we were not disrespectful, we simply resolved the issue on our own by offering to leave our dog in the car because Bobby looked stressed and made it seem like our dog was jumping on tables and knocking down food. Had we not been there celebrating our friend’s birthday we would have GLADLY left after receiving bad service from the manager himself upon arrival. So so...

The cheese burger was good and the soup was DELICIOSA. My soda was nice and cold. The front greeter Lilly was a pleasant to talk with. Great smile and looked like she was happy in her position. Overall it's going to take me many visits to try the different plates and I will have to coordinate my time to go at opening time ALWAYS. It is that busy.
I got the shrimp tacos with rice and beans with cilantro. OMG! It was delish. Then for desert I got the Open Face Apple/Berry pie with ice cream. Both of my plates were 5 star rating and delish. The shrimp tacos were nice and hot and had their own sauce in there. But the waiter also brought me some different sauces to choose and use. The red one was the HOT & SPICY like me and they had sodas and plenty of beers to choose from. I don't drink anymore so it was water and coffee for me. The visit was awesome and I will have to bring my lady and daughter and friends and neighbors and.....
