When in San Juan, you are going to spend money at all the little souvenir shops, jewelry stores and restaurants, which there are plenty of. However, you will want your name brand stores just in case you need a special outfit and want a shopping experience that is less hectic and less crowded, that's where the Mall of San Juan comes in. The mall is beautiful from the outside to the inside which is immaculate, spacious and well designed. I came here not knowing what to expect, but when you find Nordstroms, Saks Fifth and Louis Vuitton then you know you're in the right place.

I came here looking for a dinner jacket, button down shirt and slacks, but I also left with a handbag for my wife, shoes for my wife and clothing for my children as well. I guess the feeling of the mall and the vacation made me open up my wallet more than I expected, however we were pleased with the shopping experience and the helpful associates at every store. When you're not shopping, the mall has plenty of options for food and we enjoyed a nice restaurant called Brio. This mall really reminded me of South Park Mall, but with a caribbean feel, also they offer valet parking or you can just park in the garage that is well lit, safe and the parking spaces have plenty of room.

While in San Juan, you really have to check out the Mall of San Juan, just to get away from the tourist traps and the crowds that you'll find in Viejo San Juan and as I said earlier, the shopping experience was 4 out of 5...

El mall de San Juan es muy bonito, y tiene una variedad de tiendas de prestigio y alta exclusividad, como Tiffany, Louis Vuitton, Jimmy Choo, Versace, and Williams-Sonoma, to name and handful. This is, therefore, not the best place to go bargain hunting. But if you have money and like quality and/or pretty merchandise, this is the place with the highest density of fancy shops in Puerto Rico. Having said this, the Mall is inexplicably placed out in the middle of nowhere, near a low-income neighborhood that makes it absolutely incongruous. There’s in no public transportation available, and the signaling the get there and out of there is appalling. While parking is somewhat less horrible than in Plaza las Americas, it is nonetheless not great, particularly near the holidays, and handicapped parking is scarce. The elevators to move inside the mall from the parking lots are mysteriously placed in some unmarked, empty corridors, so it’s not very inviting, and you’re not really sure where you need to be going at first. This mall sat nearly empty for years, unsurprisingly. It is nice to see that it has recovered in the post-covid area, but still: considering how upscale it is meant to be, it really should have been placed in a more centric location, and it should be much more accessible that it is. It is undoubtedly a challenging project for tourists...
