Starbene Caffe — Restaurant in San Juan

The food here is a little expensive but worth it, they have great coffee and amazing gelato, the reason i keep visiting. My BIGGEST problem with this place is the terrible organization they have with the lines to order; they have two seperate cash registers, on SOME DAYS you can order the gelato (since alot people visit there for it) on the cash register on one side and the other cash register you order the other things they have to offer. ON OTHER DAYS both cash registers are taking orders from one line. This problem creates a huge crowd of people standing around in the way with no direction on where/which is the correct line, where the line starts and ends and people cutting in line. I had many occasions where i had to do a line of 10+ mins just for them tell me i was in the wrong line, send me to the back of the line to wait another 10+ mins. I complain about it everytime with their workers, they always tell me they will fix their organization by adding a sign or lines on the floor but they never have, its been months. Since my last visit i have had it, im not visiting this place again until they fix this terrible system they have...

I've been there several times, thinking: "Hm... maybe I should give this place another opportunity, this time it'll be better" but I just go in, over and over again and the staff is always so bored and unorganized that it takes them triple the time for each task. Not being able to prioritize queues has always been their Achilles heel. The prices are too high, maybe because of the location or maybe because of their idea of selling you the experience of being in an European cafe, but the fact is that you'll just get something different. You'll just get the idea of the experience. Not the experience of being at a cafe somewhere else or even the flavors or combinations of the menus in a cafe in an Italian coffee shop. Much less the prices. The only thing that keeps me going back is that the place is on my way to the food...

I've found my perfect study spot at this coffee shop in The Mall of San Juan! The atmosphere is incredibly conducive to getting work done, not too loud, not too quiet, with comfortable seating and plenty of outlets. Their chai latte is absolutely delicious - the perfect balance of spicy and sweet that keeps me coming back. But what really blew me away were the pastries, they're truly on another level! Each one feels like it came straight from a high-end bakery. I especially appreciate the thoughtful interior design, the space is beautifully decorated without feeling overdone or pretentious. It strikes that perfect balance of being stylish enough to feel special but comfortable enough to stay for hours. The staff is always welcoming and never rushes you out even during busy times. Whether you need a productive work environment or just want to enjoy an exceptional coffee and pastry experience.

¡He encontrado mi lugar perfecto para estudiar en esta cafetería en The Mall of San Juan! El ambiente es increíblemente propicio para trabajar, ni muy ruidoso, ni muy silencioso, con asientos cómodos y muchos enchufes disponibles. Su chai latte es absolutamente delicioso - el equilibrio perfecto entre especiado y dulce que me hace volver una y otra vez. Pero lo que realmente me impresionó fueron los pasteles, ¡están verdaderamente a otro nivel! Cada uno parece venir directamente de una pastelería de lujo. Aprecio especialmente el diseño interior tan bien pensado, el espacio está bellamente decorado sin sentirse exagerado o pretencioso. Logra ese equilibrio perfecto de ser lo suficientemente elegante para sentirse especial pero a la vez cómodo para quedarse durante horas. El personal siempre es acogedor y nunca te apresura a salir incluso durante las horas más concurridas.
