I visit this restaurant frequently and we had always had a great experience. However, today, it was my birthday and I decided to come with my family to celebrate and it was the worst experience I’ve ever had. First, they took a while to get our orders; then, we ordered appetizers and they were much smaller portions than usual. Then, they served only 3 out of 4 of our entrees, and they served our food without the sides. When 3 of us were just about done, I asked them to just get my Side to go, when my daughter hadn’t even gotten her octopus salad, something that doesn’t even require cooking…. Our drinks were wrong, the water was served after we had asked for it three times. We asked for two appetizers; ceviche and calamari, but, to my surprise, they brought half the portion and when I confronted the waitress, she said she had also noticed, but, when she told her manager, she just said, that was the usual portion, just a smaller plate, which made absolutely no sense at all. My daughter’s boyfriend had requested a birthday cake, which we cancel, after all the misshaps. Also, we ordered two zarzuelas and the waitress brought two cazuelas (something that is not even on the menu) The waitress argued that that was what we had ordered and did not even offer to fix the misunderstanding. I can understand that you might be understaffed,,that you have had a bad day, but, for a manager to have knowledge of all these and not care one bit about her usual customers, was really upsetting to me, specially because I chose your restaurant to have my birthday. Nothing was delivered in a timely manner. Everyone was served at a different time and all of our orders were missing their complements. This happened on a Wednesday at 7PM, so, not sure what could have been wrong. My birthday was ruined because of the way we were treated by the waitress and your manager. We are so...

I remember my mom taking me to the Metropol on Isla Verde way back in the 80's, it was an unforgettable experience. After more than 35 years I took my family to Puerto Rico and visit my roots. I wanted to visit the restaurant again. However instead of the Isla Verde I took them to the on the San Juan Mall. Unfortunately, the experience was not as pleasant as it was in the 80's. The staff that sit us were very friendly, however we felt discriminated, as we got seated on a room all by our self-separate that everyone. The waiter took 10 min to even show up. Once he came to the table, he scanned us to see how we were dressed, he gave us an unwanted look at us as if we weren't welcomed. It was felt that way the tire time. It got worst as another table was filled with better dress ladies, and then he stopped serving us and jump to the other table. Locky another waiter saw us waiting and he took up on himself to help us check out. The other waiter saw us leaving and didn't even say goodby. My excitement of taking my family to this restaurant surely was crush. The service was bad, and the food was ok. My family were very disappointed as well after many years of me mentioning this restaurant. If you get a waiter with good looking painted nails, be advice that you may get discriminated if you don't look like...

We wanted to have a meal and visit a mall for some "indoor time" so we decided on the Mall of San Juan mostly due to the ratings at Metropol.

It was worth it! We are a non-hispanic family of 4. One vegan, one flex/veg, a teen who is curious about different foods but mostly eats peanut butter, and a fussy teen who wanted tacos but doesn't eat fish. So we're challenging 😅

We had a wonderful server who made us feel very welcome, even though we were seemingly the only non-spanish-speaking people in the place.

Plantain chips for appetizer - great start Mushrooms tartare was amazing - our vegan was very pleased, as were the rest of us who tried it. Mofongo two ways, with seafood and chicken handled two more of us. As Dora the Explorer taught me, "yum yum yum, Delicioso!" Now the fussy teen, too big for the kids menu, too picky for the standard menu. She asked for a modified version of one of their standard plates and they accommodated her...not just accommodate...above and beyond!! The chef was proud to make a custom order today, it seemed, and it was wonderful. They added some roasted plantains on the side and she even ate that. It was very nice to see my fussy eater enjoying her meal.

Thank you to the team, all around. Wonderful hosts, wonderful service, wonderful food. I wish we could bring this all...

Kind of disapointed at my visit last friday. Is not my first time eating at metropol and the food is very good. This particular visit i had high hopes and when my food came they only served me the churrasco when i order it with salad and rice. I had to wait 10 min. For the rest of my order so i could eat. At that time the churrasco was cold. I FOUND PLASTIC IN MY RICE and it was so salty i couldnt eat it. For a fact i know it wasnt because of the waiter (Gil was awesome). Is not something that will make me never go again but i will think it twice before having another incomplete and salty plate. I hope someone from management see this and work on how the kitchen is running things out.

We visited the mall of san juan location. The food was cuban/puerto rican! And it was so good! Service was great as well as even though there was abit of language barrier. We got the empanadas, the puerto rican beef stew & steak salad for appetizers. The stew was so tender and hearty. The empanadas was very well seasoned and flaky. The steak salad had sweet plantains in them and I was in love with it. It brought a sweet taste to the savory salad. For dinner we had the lamb chops with rice and beans and the Puerto Rican styled fried rice. The lamb was so tender and the rice and beans very flavorful. Same for the fried rice. Very good. Overall it was a great experience and it was a favorite
