Update as of October 2025: I happened to come into the store a few months ago and I'm glad I did! Looks like several new people working there and they are awesome! Very friendly and helpful. Tonight one of the cashiers noticed an item I had was out of date and ran to get a new one. I'm so impressed! Really great improvements and I'm definitely making this my regular store again.
February 2025: Unfortunately I will no longer be shopping here. It's gotten pretty bad over the last year with the worst employee attitude and zero customer respect: several employees are rude, distant, unable to make eye contact, don't greet you at the cash register. They sort of grunt at you (because, you know, like, engaging with people is sooo harrrrd. 🙄) They appear to be miserable and self-absorbed. One employee was annoyed that I moved his restocking cart (because he wouldn't) so that I could reach an item that was blocked by his cart. Another employee was at the deli, ignored me completely, and when I finally asked if he could take my order, he snapped that the juice person was on break and he wasn't qualified to help!? It's unacceptable. This is a reflection on management, Lassen's hiring practices, and the store's current culture. You all could learn something about customer service from the awesome baristas at Scout Coffee! The other night at Lassens a young lady cashier, entrenched in her own misery??, didn't greet, didn't speak, just grunted. When I asked her why she didn't say Hello, she responded, It's none of my business. It was the final straw. Congrats! You just lost a longtime customer. I have other choices in SLO like Sprouts, Whole Foods, California Market...and that's where I'll be taking my...
Read moreAfter not being able to decide which type of product would be best for my need, I decided to ask for help, the lady didn't seem very interested in helping but I asked if she thought Product type A would be better or Product type B. All she did was show me where A and B was after she had walked around me looking at product A and B for 10 minutes. When I said well do you have any recommendations, she said "no, not really, most people just do their own research then they come in and buy what they need". I feel if you are going to work in a supplement department (where there an overwhelming amount of options) you should be able to give some sort of recommendation or help a little. I dont know if she was strictly hired to do stocking then I feel I should have been directed to someone that could give me information. I went in for help and was pretty much just told to figure it out myself. Didn't make for a...
Read moreI stop here sometimes on my way home from school. They have a lot of good stuff! So many organic and vegan options. They are extremely good for supplements. Very, very extensive selection. They also have a lot of items Whole Foods has, just a but cheaper. They also have a lot of stuff Whole Foods doesn't have. I have purchased a lot of meatless options here for dinners and also baking supplies for the vegan baking I do for family. Very reasonably priced, especially when shopping sales. I did dock them 1 star because you have to watch the prices of items being scanned like a hawk. I have had items ring up for more than they should, been charged double for items, etc. So just watch the prices and you are good to...
