a good friend of mine took me there tonight for dinner and I'll tell you what I couldn't even imagine any better service than we received the food was absolutely perfect it was clean the atmosphere was friendly they had outside seating there were a couple of college kids there enjoying their food as well but I'll tell you what that service this gentleman the register and he waited on us I mean he just I don't know words can't describe how impressed I am with that whole place. it's funny because we found that place on accident. there was two other you know Thai food restaurants that we knew and were familiar with but they were already closed and it was not even 9:00 yet it was a little bit what was it about not even 8:30 yet and they were already closed ... why do they say they stay open till 9? we googled tia food in SLO and we found typhoon open until 9... so we decided to try if we possibly could eat there...it was almost closing time but they welcomed us with open arms at about 8:56ish and all aspects of the visit was 5 stars. thank...

The three star rating is for the experience ordering. There were two point of sale systems available and both had different options available. Neither of them matched up with the options on the paper menu taped to the counter.
The experience was very cumbersome because we tried the first POS terminal and couldn't create the drinks we wanted based off of what should have been available per the paper menu. The second system had a couple additional options, but still not what we wanted. We ended up just going with the pre-made options on the menu.
It's worth noting that it could be entirely possible that the paper menu just isn't clear enough about what options are available with which drinks. Either we misunderstood the menu or the POS system is wrong, or both.
I'll give them another star if they get their POS system to match up with their paper menu and/or clarify the...

Everything was incredibly well done, just so good. This may very well be the best Thai joint in all of SLO County.
I look forward to exploring the rest of their menu.
This is the first Thai restaurant in the county that has offered crispy pork, I was so excited, and it met every expectation. I love basil dishes, and they went so well together. The Thai BQ chicken was juicy and perfectly tender. The Thai tea was perfect. The taro waffle, which was new to me, was exceptional; a subtle sweetness, with a fudgy inner texture, and a lightly crispy outer texture (almost like a brownie).
Ordered via a kiosk, and food was promptly made and served. Staff was attentive and friendly.
For a casual eatery, the quality is fantastic, probably better than it should be.
Check Typhoon out, they deserve your business, and you deserve a more than...
