Edit: The owner contacted me shortly after posting my review. She informed me that she would give me a refund and to just show up to the shop. When I found time in my schedule to go, one of the girls who does threading informed me the owner usually makes sure there's enough cash to refund. Unfortunately, she didn't that day. I had to wait for the owner to get there which took 10-20 minutes and she asked me to speak to her outside. We spoke for over a half hour. She explained she spoke to Jessica, who did my 2nd wax. She gave me a full refund from my first visit, so I only paid for the tip and a single wax from my 2nd visit. That one wax put me back months in the progress I have made with waxing. She asked for a favor - that I remove my review. Yesterday, I got a call and message within an hour or so of this review being found useful on Yelp. She wanted to confirm I got my credit card refund. I can't remove my review because my wax from Jessica at Beauty Box cost me months of progress and hundreds of dollars. If you're cool with getting a full refund after a botched wax, this upgrade to a 2-Star is for you.

I went to Beauty Box twice because at the end if my first appointment I was offered an awesome deal of buying 6 waxes and getting 1 free. The first girl I saw was very nice, but tweezing isn't allowed. Okay, take care of my ingrown hairs myself. Got it. No big deal, but it was definitely the most painful wax I've had. I went the 2nd time and tried the other girl because I already bought the waxes. The second girl was very nice too... But neither could recommend a good exfoliant. After a couple days, the hair was already growing back. My skin was red, itchy, and irritated. I ended up with more ingrown hairs than I've had in the past. When I was due for what would've been my 3rd wax, I was going how to the bay area and figured I'd see my regular girl. She said it looked like I shaved, all of my hairs were broken, and I'm starting out fresh. The promotion to pre-purchase waxes at your first appointment before seeing the quality of their work is messed up. I will never go back there again. I'd rather drive 3.5-4 hours for a high...

What stands out about BeautyBox is consistency. Whether I'm getting threaded, waxed or my hair done; I know that I'll be leaving happy and completely satisfied! I love that Kaya is constantly educating you on what she's doing and why she's doing it. She truly knows how to personalize your experience and her passion shines through her work!!

Now, I need to talk about the products. All of which Kaya tested for months before she opened, just so she can whole-heartedly stand behind what she sells! (You won't find that just anywhere)

My heart grew a couple sizes the day Kaya introduced me to Rhonda Alison.. you had me with that Derma Peel!! Seriously, you need to try it when you go in. It's a non-abrasive, gel exfoliant that you can use anywhere on your body, including your sensitive face :) Later on I purchased the travel pack Anti-Aging line, annnd I've never been more satisfied!

Out of all the brow products, my two favorites are the Kelley Baker tinted brow gel and that pencil highlighter! Since I usually don't wear a ton of make up, it's my brow bff when I just need a quick finished look on the go.

If you're going in for a bikini wax and you've ever struggled with ingrown hairs, the Starpil hair puller is the light at the end of the tunnel!! I love that it's a spray, and it still works even if you don't use it everyday.

Beauty Box is one of my favorite beauty places. Kaya, the owner, is the sweetest, kindest, so honest, talented, and just so beautiful inside and out. The way she talks to all her clients is so sweet. She refers to everyone by calling them love, darling, and gorgeous she is so kind-hearted and genuine. I can't think of many places that greet you with such kind words, and she knows her clients' names, too, even though she is busy and sees many people. My eyebrows are always on point, the best threader ever, and my lash lift lasts over a month and is absolutely a perfect curl. I've seen her do brazilian blowouts, and wow, amazing never ever have I seen such talent. I drive from Orcutt to Slo twice a month for my brows and a lash lift.
