Dr Dan Woods. There is absolutely not enough I can say about this fine surgeon and human being.
Ruptured my Achilles about 12 weeks ago, unbelievably traumatic injury. It is hard to articulate just how intense and injury this is. Those that have done it know and those that have not cant even imagine. The pain, loss of function, length of time it takes to recover is terrible.
Dr Woods got me in, confirmed the diagnosis, expedited getting me in to French for my repair, followed me closely through out my recover (which is on going). This man made me feel safe and well cared for. I knew he could technically do the repair and return me to my active lifestyle but the most important thing I received from Dr Woods and his MA Jill (also a wonderful person) was what kept my spirits up and kept me hopeful. Dr Woods ability to treat the human spirit goes well beyond his incredibly capable surgeons hands. He genuinely cared about how I felt; not the pain I was in by my state of mind. He knew I was very unhappy about the injury and was so compassionate and caring it really helped me through the first couple months.
I am happy to say that compared to a lot of what I have read, I am doing really well. I was able to get out of my post surgical boot and off crutches at about 10 weeks. I was back in the gym and in the pool as well at about 6 weeks. I am now walking with out any aid. I have a slight limp and some swelling, both completely normal but no pain or discomfort.
If you are unfortunate enough to ever rupture your Achilles, have it repaired, dont believe the stuff out there that says you dont have to, you will regret it. If you chose to repair it, do yourself a huge favor and go see Dr Woods. If you have any Orthopedic injury, start with Dr Woods, you will be so happy you did. He is a fantastic doctor and an even better person.
Huge thank you to Dr Woods and Jill, you guys have my...
Read moreAre they paying for these 5 star reviews? I am passionately typing currently with a broken hand because their referral system is Horrendous. I have called every single day this week to try to get an appointment with the doctor I was referred to. I have still heard nothing. Half the time it is impressive to actually get through to a human. NO ONE should have to go two weeks with a broken bone without being seen.
Their Blatant mis-representation of who they are is hilarious (but mostly horrendous). From their website: "We work to develop an open and honest doctor-patient partnership, which begins with listening well." My experience has been quite the opposite. The person I finally reached through to today after multiple rounds of calling, mentioned they are incredibly understaffed. How is anyone supposed to be heard if no one can answer the phone?
Lastly because I'm especially over this; for the collective hour I have spent waiting on the phone with this office, the waiting "music" is a man who doesn't stop talking about how great the service is. Not only is it annoying to be constantly talked at, it's straight up false information. At one point the recording says "we pride ourselves on being empathetic professionals" 😂😂😂 You're literally not though.
Re-brand and be honest: "We are a business that once-in-a-while answers the phone, we aren't willing to hire the staff we need, and we only...
Read moreDr Devine diagnosed me while I was in the ER and said I needed surgery. My primary doctor referred me to him as he was in my network and he diagnosed me. He didn’t even meet with me, but sent his PA or NO and they refused surgery because of my age (36) and then referred me to a colleague of his, Dr. Delagrammaticas. He agreed to the surgery, but gave me two more options and told to me to take some time to think about it. After a couple of weeks I made another appointment and met with him again and stated I wanted to go ahead with the surgery. He refused without an explanation, after he had agreed, and even after I protested the limitations I’ve had socially and work wise. Since then, my primary office has led me into meetings with other great specialists and I even recently got scheduled for surgery at one of the top 10 Orthopaedic surgical facilities in the US, UCLA Medical. Long story short CCO is a joke, especially if you have CrnCal like I do. Save your time and energy and contact your insurance to be seen elsewhere like I did. My local pain management office confirmed that their practice was a joke, especially after how they treated me and I was way better off going to UCLA...
