Copperfield's Books — Local services in San Rafael

Actually a great little book store, work from their coffee shop all the time. Decided to walk around the store with my laptop bag after doing some work and was pretty clearly being followed, after looking at books for a few minutes I got a pretty stern “CAN I HELP YOU SIR” with a number of other people around, didn’t feel the need to ask them apparently. Felt very unwelcome and honestly a little embarrassed as I’m sure the message was clear to everyone around me. who steals books anyways? Apparently people that look like me. I always try to support local book stores since they’re getting harder to come by, but won’t be returning to this one, don’t appreciate being treated like a criminal. It’s a shame since I’m sure the store itself isn’t at fault, just these two employees who feel the need to...

I love this store. There seems to be less book stores, making this even more special. There are so many books you could stay for hours. The coffee shop (store within a store) is great too. I have bought gifts here, they have some unique cards and gifts. Last visit I bought an Atlas. It was a 2019 version for 20$. Its exactly what I wanted. Then I left as I could spend a lot of time buying books, etc. Check it out, even just for coffee. I think you would buy books even if you didn't plan too. I am really happy to have this store on 4th Street....

There has not been a good book store for a long time and I fell so now the building up and extending it so this is going to be a great bookstore and they already are great in the small place imagine when the big place is going to be open I'm looking forward send to open in Giant Store I know people like to read books thank goodness it's never going to get us down so come down have a cup of coffee read a good book see people talk to people enjoy yourself there's very few places left now in San Rafael where you can actually socialize...
